I took a friend after I was told I "had to go". I have never been big on Asian cuisine, but this menu is amazing. The Kimchee and Vegetable pancakes are a must have, as well as the beef Bulgogi!! I ordered WAY too much, but took it home and reheated it the next day and it was great.
The service was impeccable and I appreciate that the whole place is very very clean. Lovely atmosphere and the parking was not bad. We stayed quite a long time, but I never felt that they wanted to get the table "turned", and the waiter kept coming by to check but never interrupted the conversation. Love that!
There isn't anyone I would not send to this restaurant, as you can go as hot or mild as you like, and there are dishes that are good for timid eaters as well as the adventurous ones. Can't wait to go back.
Pros: Price, food, selection, service

Great food in the Vietnamese area of Chicago. Prices were not too high and appropriate for the food. Staff was very friendly and it appears to be a nice family run business. Owner came out to talk with guests personally which shows great service. I would definetely recommend this restaurant. One thing to note is that there is no alcohol service, which may be true of all the restaurants in that area. However, they do allow you to bring your own alcohol in. I had really been wanting a glass of wine with dinner, so my husband walked to a liquor store and brought back a bottle of wine. Staff were very accommodating with providing a bottle opener and wine glasses.

I always look forward to eating at Little Brothers. The food is simple but amazing. And everything is fresh and (depending on what you order) can be very healthy. The sauces are delicious and I recommend mixing them for variety! Very friendly service, and I hope that they stay in business for a long, long time. I wish there was one downtown so I could have it for lunch as well!
Pros: Fresh ingredients, fast, friendly, delicious
Cons: not open on Sundays

This restaurant has undergone a renovation and it is beautiful! The food, however, has remained the same and that is the secret behind the jewel. I moved away from Chicago and miss this place so much. On every visit to Chicago I do my darndest to return to this restaurant and enjoy some of the best cuisine I've found around. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Pros: ambiance, food, staff

This place has the best banh mi I know of. For $3 you can get a sandwich that's pure heaven--my favorites are the tofu and BBQ pork. Both come with fresh cilantro and hot peppers on toasty French bread (as well as another crunchy, delicious vegetable whose taste I don't recognize--you will love it when you try it!). One sandwich usually fills me up, but sometimes it's hard to resist buying two.
Ba Le is a storefront bakery--there's a table in the corner you can eat at, and it's been free all of the times I've been. But you shouldn't count on being able to eat in when you go...

Large portions, cheap food- although not the best in Vietnamese cuisine, it will do nicely especially when you consider the price points and the ambience. The place is decorated well and appears to be relatively clean compared to most other restaurants in the Vietnamese Chinese neighborhood. With a larger group, it helps to call ahead for reservations and if its not booked already, the karaoke stage (complete with large screens and a small monitor) is open for you and your friends' performances.
Pros: ambience, portion sizes, karaoke
Cons: food is ok

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Chicago. Honestly, nothing beats it! It is very classy and very cheap, and you always leave here stuffed! The food is also really healthy and everything is made fresh and all natural. And it tastes amazing! Everyday they have fresh cut flowers on the table, soft music, and the waiter service is excellent, they're on top of their game here, and aim to please! Their lunch special is a huge deal. For around eight bucks you get a drink (unlimited), salad, soup, a huge entree, egg role, rice, and dessert! For dinner it is just as good of a deal at about 10 bucks, and you get more! Just be sure to get a reservation and BYOB. It is a very romantic place in the evening with lit candles and is very swanky. Might be okay to get just a little more than casual. But casual still would do. The owner is always around to make sure everything is perfect. I eat here about 3 times a week! Even if you don't like Asian food, give this place a try because it is different than other Asian food! There is something here everyone will love!!!!
Pros: I can't think of anything that isn't a pro.
Cons: Can't think of anything that is a con.

I have been coming to this Argyl location of Cafe Hoang regularly since roughly 1999 with my wife, who is from Saigon. This is the original Cafe Hoang, by the way. The one in Chinatown is owned and operated by the daughter and son-in-law of the owners of this Agyle location. Similar to other family restaurants I have been to that have children who branch off and start their own restaurants with the same name, the food at this location is more authentically Vietnamese. When that is the case, then the taste improves in my book. Plus, I am tired of driving around Chinatown looking for a parking spot. Unless it's a nice day on Saturday or Sunday, parking on and around Argyle is not that bad relative to other more busy areas of Chicago.
Pros: Bun Bo Hue and Pho (parking is better here than Chinatown)

For the price of a "McDonalds Value Meal" you can eat authentic Korean food at Lincoln Noodle House. Almost everything I've tried on the menu has been great and it's left me coming back for more! The portions are generous and the quality of the food... wonderful!
