I was in Chicago for business over the Memorial day weekend when I walked by Pistachios. They have an incredible window display and I instantly saw a beautiful necklace with matching earrings that I knew my wife would love.
But they were closed! And Tuesday I had to spend my last day in Chicago in an all day meeting. What to do?
Not a problem. I called Pistachios as soon as they opened and talked to a very helpful woman named Katherine who talked to me in depth about the piece I was calling about, and then arranged for the necklace to be delivered to my hotel for me.
That's service! I am very impressed. Both with the quality, but doubly impressed with the attention to detail and the effort the store staff went to make sure I went home with the my purchase.
Call me a fan for life. And I will definitely be coming back when I return to Chicago.
I hope to see more on the website so I can shop from the west coast.
Very impressed.

I just bought a lovely pair of earrings at Pistachios. The store is full of neat jewelry, watches, and miscellaneous wall art and scarves. It's a little on the pricey side, but the things in there are unique. However, both women employees that were there the day I was shopping (April 11, 2007) were snobby. The one who rang me up (Justine) didn't say one word to me the whole time at check-out. I don't think either of them thought I was going to buy anything when I came in out of the rain, so they didn't think to be courteous and helpful. They had no problem helping a group of four other gabby, loud women, but they stuck their noses up at me and my brother. I took my money and spent it at other stores in Chicago with better customer service. You could learn a thing or two in customer service from the fine employees at such stores as Saks Fifth Avenue, Pistachios.
But I do love my earrings.

Pistachios is a small but cute gift shop/gallery that specializes in jewelry, house decorations, and other miscellaneous objects. Many of the goods are hand made and unusual, and much of it is pretty expensive. For some reason I don't get a really good vibe from this store, when I am usually eager to peek into fun little gallery shops, but it's worth a stop if you are interested in this kind of product.

This is an awesome jewelry store! Everything they have is unique and they carry items made by many different designers. I always check out this place when I need to get a unique gift for someone...and I usually can't help picking up something for myself too! The service here is great, and the people will always help you find what you need. Great gift shopping stop..
