My entire trade desk was thrilled when the Shikami brothers opened up Shikago nearby in the Loop! This is the best place for sushi in the Loop. Also, check-out the rest of the modern contemporary global menu and gallery-like dining space. The menu is always inventive and delicious since the chef only uses fresh seasonal ingredients. Perfect place for lunch if you dine-in or take-out during the busy work week and a great secret spot for after-work gatherings or dinner before or after theater, etc. The wine list is awesome and available for retail as well! Located next door to the W Hotel on Adams/Lasalle. For private parties, the upstairs law library on the 40th floor designed by Philip Johnson is the best kept secret in the entire city! Stunning!

Loved this BYOB sushi place. The lighting and atmosphere make even an ordinarly dinner feel like a romanitc meal. Love the maki selection including my favorite roll: The Chicago Crazy. Normally BYOB's feel overcrowded, but even on busy nights, Matsuyama is enjoyable. Also great for large groups. I'm strongly considering haveing my birthday party there. Liquer store right across the street!

This place is in Andersonville and parking can be tough - but if you enjoy interesting drinks and martinis along with dynamite rolls - then it's worth the effort. We have gone a few times and each time find another roll or dish that makes you crave more. The Braised Scallops the last time we went were amazing - we tried them now at other sushi places but nothing compares - their rolls all have a signature to them that had us gobble them up. Their prices are expensive - so be prepared - we opted out on the pieces as it was just too expensive and the sushi was small and not that great. Service can be uneven -- but they try.

Hey Sushi is a decent place to get some sushi. They have a fairly large selection here and they have all the traditional and popular selections of sushi. The ambiance of this place is nice, it is not too formal and not super casual either. The service here is great and the servers are good at recommending the house specials. If you are a fan of sushi, then this is not the best place to get really authentic sushi, but their selection is satisfying and not too bad tasting either.

I have stayed at many westin hotels, and this is one of the better. The rooms have the typical ammendities, but the service is outstanding and you are in a quality location. I would return because of the location, and the price is very reasonable for being right down town.. Quite a deal considering

I was here with a friend a week ago and we really liked it. We were seated right at our reservation time when we entered the door even though the place was packed and went upstairs. The tables weren't nearly as close together as I expected or as loud. I had read some reviews before going and was a bit worried but remembered the space from Scylla's so I was willing to risk it. I'm glad I did! The barramundi was fabulous and the halibut my friend ordered was really good, too. I asked the waiter to make a recommendation between a choice of two wines I narrowed the list to and he was spot on. The only "eh" factor was the dessert. We ate most of it but probably because we were having such a good time and didn't want to leave rather than the dessert being all that great. I can't even remember what they called it but it was essentially a rice crispy treat with jam and ice cream with some other little things thrown in. It was pretty but not the best dessert I'd ever had. The dessert list was pretty extensive so perhaps we ordered one of their weaker items.
Pros: We weren't specifically going for seafood but that's the theme we ended up with and it was great!; Service was prompt & knowledgable.
Cons: The dessert wasn't all that great.

The sushi places in Chicago just don't end. But this place in Wicker Park is defintely one that sticks out for me at least. The sushi here is amazing and always really fresh. I never go by their actual standrad menu, but always ask for the house specialties. Those are the ones to have because they are given extra love and attention and their fantastic taste definitely shows that! Its not the most inexpensive sushi in the area, but it is good. Also, this restaurant is BYOB so that saves a bit on the bill too.

If you are a big fan of sushi, then this is a good option for you. Although their sushi is really average and nothing really exceptional, the restaurant itself is really nice. It is nicely decorated "lounge" style and they play nice music. Plus, there's some outdoor seating here too. The service is good too and you can count on your server to make some good suggestions.
But if sushi is not your thing, then skip out on this place. There's not much cooked stuff on the menu.
