I am new to reviews but I had such a wonderful experience at Chicago 312 that I had to tell as many people as possible! My husband and I were on a getaway in Chicago to see Wicked. (Our last trip away before he is deployed to Iraq again.) We made dinner reservations late and the staff was very accommodating. There were not any reservations for a table left but they said they could get us in at a side bar area. We were thrilled the staff was so helpful. We had to take a Taxi in from the airport and with traffic we were almost 30 minutes late for our reservation. When we arrived the manager Mike Avella (remember his name folks!!!) came right up to us. When we told him we were late for our reservations he said "let me see what I can do" and before we knew it we were on our way to a table. Before we sat down he said "you know what, if we are going to do it lets do it right" and escorted us to a very quiet, romantic booth! It was so much more than we expected!
Our waiter was wonderful and very helpful. We were just finishing our appetizer, soup and salad when it came to me! I left our Theater tickets at the hotel. With the show starting in one hour and the hotel an hour cab ride away I felt sick. I just got my main course, a fillet Mignon to die for and I couldn't eat it. I went to the staff for help. To get a number to the box office or anything!
Again Mike came up and offered help. He offered to again see what he could do. Before I had time to work myself into a full panic up walks that wonderful man and he lays down two tickets to the show and says, "I don't know what your seats were but I'm sure these are better... on me!" Two 90.00 tickets just given to us!!! When I asked how I could thank him enough he simply stated "...please just relax and enjoy your fillet." Then he reappeared with two glasses of highly recommended dessert wine and asked us to please relax and enjoy. I will tell this story for years to come! Thanks again Mike Avella!!!
Pros: Everything!!!!
Cons: Can't think of any!!!

I'm not a manager at A Mano but I eat there quite often and I LOVE it. The menu is full of delcious, authentic Italian options. One of my favorites is the Thursday night special, veal involtini, the best veal I've ever tasted. I'm also hooked on the pizzas, they're perfect, baked in a wood-burning oven. Fun place, the people are cool - really inviting and warm. Don't forget to try the gelato!

My review will be completely different than most because my visit to A Tavola will hold the most wonderful memories for me. 2148 W. Chicago is the house I grew up in, it's the house where many wonderful and traditional dinners have been eaten by my family. I haven't been in my old house since 1975, and when I heard it was a restaurant I could only hope someday to visit. I live in Arkansas, and never thought I would come back home. However, my daughter, husband, and a childhood friend made arrangements for a vacation to Chicago and to A Tavola Restaurant. From the moment the owner greeted us then suggested delicious foods like I've never eaten before to the tour of my old house new fantastic memories were made. Words will never express my gratitude for the wonderful food and memories, but I thank all of you who made this a special date.
Hugs,
Lorrie Popow

Read the earlier reviews on this site and I must state clearly that this must have been an "early opening experience." My wife and I (dined there this past Friday night) and found our experience simply outstanding in every area. The food ordered was just wonderful and the overall menu options are well thought out although I would suggest a couple more white creamy sauce choices. The calamari was tasty and "plump," and I had to have 2 extra pieces of the hot buttered bread. My wife ordered the Rollini and I had the Lasagna--each prepared and presented exquisitely---but tasted even better!
The service and atmosphere were impeccable---professional and pro-actively attentive.
Adesso is a "Must Dine At" and will be one of our first choices from now on---a cozy, warm, genuine neighborhood experience that we would recommend to our closest friends!!
Pros: Food quality & presentation / Service atmosphere and attentiveness
Cons: Dining room a little small---get there between 5 and 7 for best seating

Adorno's offers a different kind of thin crust but it's tasty and good. The sauce is a little different, almost a little spicy but it tastes great. Their other food is very good as well and they consistently deliver under an hour and it's always piping hot.

We love this Brazilian restaurant. It has the food and atmosphere of a downtown restaurant. It is very trendy, in a good way. The lamb is unbeleivable (beef tenderloin too). The potataoes with goat cheese are my favorite. The owners are so nice. We've gone back 3 times.
