This small always busy Italian restaurant is a must to try if you like food ! I found this place to be one of the best Italian Restaurant in town. You have to make a reservation, especially on weekend since they do not accept walk- in during the weekend. Their food is sooooo good, there's nothing from their menu that I have found average, everything is excellent.

For me great Italian restaurants know how to make a killer red sauce. This place is another one of those places in Chicago. It's another Italian restaurant that makes Chicago famous and makes us proud. They not only have great foods but have authentic decor . The service is first rate here also. I know they have been here a long time. How many years, I don't know for sure, at least 20 that I know of. This stuff ain't out of the can, that's for sure.

At first I was cautious because of the few reviews, but trying the restaurant was definitely worth it: a hidden gem, so far my favourit Italian place in Chicago.
For every dish, from the standard pasta to more exotic risotto or fish, the chef managed to always give a unique twist that made it a unique experience! The only disappointment was the rather lame Chardonnay.
Pros: Great food, Nice environment, Great service
Cons: No street parking

Without a doubt, GIordano's makes the best pizza ever. Delivery usually takes a fairly long time, however, especially compared to the big chains.
Pros: The pizza, especially the stuffed pizza
Cons: Price, delivery time

I grew up in an Italian neighborhood and this place takes me back. This place is hands down THE BEST place for Sub sandwiches. Everything is always fresh and you just cannot beat the price. There is ALWAYS a line in there, but the service is excellent and fast. It is definately worth the wait. If you are in a hurry, call and order ahead. About 2 months ago, I bought a prime rib roast from the butcher. It was also the best that I have ever had ANYWHERE! Also, stop by next door to D'amato's Bakery. They use coal fired ovens to bake their bread and it is simply wonderful. 2 VERY AUTHENTIC Italian places still left in the City. I consider myself a very lucky patron of both...Keep up the good work guys!! Frank the butcher is wonderful!! Please don't ever change!!
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Small space, no parking lot, short hours on Sunday

Personally I'm not to crazy about their pizza but that is just me. But for some really good, cooked by Mom Italian food? Yep...this is the place! From the outside you would never know it but they do have a quite charming little...and I do mean little dining area. Tina herself will often come out and pull up a chair and sit and chat with you when she isn't in back cooking! She takes great pride in her food and makes sure it is right. Try this place you won't be disappointed.

Every time we take trips down to Chicago my family and I eat at LA Scala's. The owners are absolutely wonderful! The chef always comes out of the kitchen to say hello to us and find out how we have all been while his (the chef's wife) and my mother talk about how much the kids have grown. I love the people, but the food is to die for!
Pros: Good Parking, Good People, Good Times
Cons: Tube lighting

After being snubbed by Andy's Jazz Club and angered over their crummy service, my wife and I were lured into Bella Rosa by a chalk board sidewalk sign reading "$7.00 Martinis!" For a later dinner on a Saturday night, I was surprised that there was no wait at all. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks. The staff is friendly and attentive; the hosts, hostesses, waitstaff, and bussers each said "Welcome to Bella Rosa" as they passed by. What a great way to make you feel welcome! The dinner menu is a simple, one page authentic Italian - exactly what you'd expect to see. We ordered a margherita pizza and a few more libations before leaving a few hours later.

I ordered lunch from there for our office. They have a pretty solid menu but I just got the pizza and garlic bread for the office. The food actually arrived before they said so that was a bit suprising. We ordered thin crust and it was one of the best pizzas we have ever ordred from our office. I wouldn't have gone out of my way to write this during work if I didn't think everyone needs to try this place. I am not sure where it's located as I have never been to the place, but I would try and make it a point to check it out next time you are in the mood for some 'za. I really enjoyed this pizza they call Pizza from the Garden. It's really good.
Pros: Pizza From The Garden is spectacular
Cons: None
