This is really an incredible place to see a show at. They have two rooms - the concert hall and a bar next door. The admission in the bar is almost always free. The concert hall admission varies depending on which acts are performing on specific nights. I like the Abby because its easy to see the stage and hear the band from anywhere in the club. Drinks are pretty cheap too.
Pros: Easy to see and hear any show you attend
Cons: Its hard to find if you've never been there before

HAve been to the Abbey Pub a number of times in the past few years and to be honest the food was hit or miss. In the past few weeks myself and friends have been there about 6 times, for different shows. I have to say their new kitchen staff put out some kick ass food. We were there on Monday night, and had some of the best Irish Beef Stew we have ever had. And of course their burgers ROCK! Big and juicy...sweet potato fries upon request...
Keep up the good work Abbey!!!!

I recently visited the abbey pub after being advised that a new chef introduced a kick arse menu and I was not disappointed, the food was excellent and it it was a through back to the many years and good times we had at the abbey enjoying the very best in traditional Irish and folk music. It is nice to see a known venue reinvent themselves and are now offering the best food in town. I hit it at the right for music also as it was Sunday after noon and I was in at the right time to enjoy the oldest traditional music sessiun on sunday afternoon, excellent.

Been to Abbey pub many times for Irish groups like The Fenians, Prodigals, Seven Nations, and others. Owners, Looney family, run a great place and recently redid the music room. Huge variety of beer and drinks...great menu too! My husband proposed to me there with The Fenians in 2001 so it is one of my top places!
Pros: Variety, entertainment, atmosphere
Cons: , not cheap, crowded (weekends)
