I went here for a New Years Eve Party last new years. It was a great time here. They have a banquet hall here which they make into a really festive party. The food is great. We had buffet style dinners, with lots of hearty and great tasting food. My husband and I ended up spending the night here and the hotel rooms were great too. They were really comfy and cozy and the room service was great as well. The hotel is just about five to ten minutes past Midway Airport and it is in a very nice area with lots of shops and restaurants around as well.

Pretty good hotel. Since I'm HHonors Gold I usually stay here and can find a pretty good rate.
The location is very good: 1/2 block from Michigan Ave and a short walk to the Oak Street Beach. But also pretty quiet compared to some other hotels in this.
Even the highest rooms only have decent lake views since other buildings block you view. But still nice to wake up to a sunrise over the lake.
Elevators can be a long wait.
Staff is above average for Chicago hotels.
Placement of the TV in the rooms is wierd and the reception is fair to poor. But if you're in Chicago you shouldn't be staying in your room too much.

If you need a place to stay and walk past here looking for a room, then keep walking. They are cheap... really cheap. They are also dirty... really dirty. I don't know how far I can go into the stuff that I know about this building, but anything that is illegal can be found here. Everyone that I have known that needed a place to stay and couldn't afford anything else has told me that people sleep in the halls and roaches have taken over the rooms. There is nothing good about this place except its location. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE!

Dining at ritz carlton, ok your menu is going to cost some money. The food though is good. Fancy schmancy whatever, I dont care, the food was good. The dessert was especially good. It was just apple with ice cream. They managed to make it taste better than most places. Would I go out of my way to eat here? No, but if you're at the hotel and want a meal and can afford it, then eat.

The Homewood Suites can be easily overlooked, but it is a fine all-suites property with a good location in River North. My room consisted of a living area, kitchen with lots of appliances, and a big bedroom. The breakfast buffet was free and very filling, though offering few surprises to the palate. There is an indoor pool in the hotel for guests too.

I have not stayed at this particular hotel, but I have been here several times for various corporate meetings and seminars. They do a really nice job of making everyone feel comfortable. The meeting rooms and parlors are well maintained with proper equipment, furniture, good food and beverages and all the ammenities you need for a successful meeting. They are quick to step in for any problems or requests and the staff are efficient and pleasant.

This hotel is great with everything. The fitness area is well equipped, and if you are living large, then the club level is clean and friendly. There is a bar and a restaurant on the first and second floor of this building. The breakfasts are good, but maybe a little over priced. If you are staying here then make sure that you ask for a north facing room, because they are all unobstructed views.

Are you short on cash, but need a nice place to stay in Chicago? Try Hostelling International Chicago, a hostel-type hotel with just the basics at a very reasonable price. You'll get here what you get in your average hostel room -- bunkbeds and dressers. Everything is very clean and the staff here is friendly. I think it is a wonderul experience for a really low price. Keep in mind, this place is used by a nearby college's students as a dorm during the school year, so you might not be able to get rooms that easily and it may be a bit crowded. But other than that a great, cheap place to stay in Chicago!

We had low expectations for the Hard Rock - our friends picked it and we went along for the ride. We had a great room - 3603 - so the views from 36 were intense. It was a little small for the money, but very "W" like (I took to calling it the "U"). Their in house restaurant was China Grill which was surprisingly high quality. The room had everything we needed - high speed internet, a big TV with DVD / CD player, big bathroom, and plenty of closet space. The fitness center was fine - a couple of bikes, treadmills, and elipticals and a modest set of weight machines and free weights. The staff was friendly and everything went well. The location is perfect - the corner of Michigan and Wacker - right in the middle of everything.

Twice now I have experienced double billing on my bank statement after having tea and breakfast at the Starbucks in the hotel. I receive a duplicate bill for Mercat where I did not purchase anything but which is also part of the hotel. I have also not received even a cup discount when I get a refill on my tea. I am charged full price which is unlike any other Starbucks I have frequented. When questioned about this, the staff tells me they were yelled at for doing so. Creates a mess for me when reconciling my bank statement.
Pros: Beautiful Restoration
Cons: Have Experienced Double Billing More Than Once
