This place is in the heart of all the action and an upbeat neighborhood with the most friendly and welcoming concierges. Ask Michelle anything and she will know, and if she doesn't she will get on her computer and find out, with a quickness! They even print boarding passes. We really love the friendliness of the staff. Very helpful. The rooms are comfortable and very clean! Breakfast is nice. Rates go a little higher during weekends but it's definately worth it. A bit noisy on West side because of EL. In the heart of Boystown/Wrigleyville!
Pros: Concierges, Location, Cleanliness
Cons: Noise/EL

You can stay downtown or you can stay in Lincoln Park and visit downtown.....so much more to do and see this part of town, great little Euro-style hotel that does not pretend to be something its not, and what it is I like alot! Rooms are no frills but they are clean, staff is great, safes in the rooms, and yes there are a few rooms I would rather not stay in, but we all have preferences. This hotel is right in the middle of a bustling neighborhood, close to Wrigley, close to the Lake, close to Lincoln Park and the Zoo, and a train ride away from the center of the Mile or the Loop. Brown Line train to Kimball.....here I come. Great little comp breakfast, gym is a great perk, and multiplex theatre behind is also fun to see flicks that will be another six months getting to my town. If you want frou, this place is not for you, but if you want a decent place to locate, Days Inn LPN is and always will be, my fave. I do not need chocolates on my pillow, just the pillow will be fine for me.
Pros: Location, staff, size, perks
Cons: No frills, but waffles rock!

We stayed here for a few days when visiting Chicago. With the Watertower next door and Michigan Ave right outside anything you want is within a nice walk or short cab ride. The hotel itself has everything you would expect at the Ritz. On this visit I used their spa and alterations servcies and am pleased to say the both exceeded expectations. The tailor came to my room measured for the length and returned the slacks to our room well before they were promised. there was absolutely no interruption to my day. The spa facilities are wonderful as well and the massage services made 90 minute massages a must from now on. Very relaxing and much needed!

We had a FANTASTIC meal before going to theatre. I wanted to stay for dessert, but it was getting late, so we''l be back and try some sweets next time. I also appreciated the large selection of wines by the glass and not named Mondavi. Great place to stop when in the Loop.
Pros: Very Affordable Loop Restaurant
Cons: Dining Room Closes at 10PM

I was relocating back to Chicago and needed a place to live while hunting for a loft with my agent. They were more than accommodating with a rate for long term stay. Every wish was granted. The management is incredible. The staff and front desk is equally as amazing. I felt at home and was treated like so. I would go back west on the weekends and they would reserve my room for my sunday return so that I had some consistency in living in Chicago. Ive stayed at a Ritz Carlton property many times many locations and this was like a mini Ritz to me. I have referred friends who have come to town and they were so pleased and experienced the same type of stay as my six month stay. They have also re-booked each time they have visited our great city! I love this place and would NEVER stay anywhere else and will continue to refer and refer.
Pros: EVERYTHING
Cons: NONE

After having a bit too much on New Year's, my friend and I decided we couldn't even try to get home, and we stumbled into the Hilton Garden. The check-in staff were courteous and understanding (and even offered help up to our room, but we weren't THAT badly-off) and gave us a late check out for the next day. Three cheers for service! It is a comfortable, not too stuffy hotel near everything, but without the ridiculous price tag of its brother Hilton on Michigan. Great for the price.
Pros: COFFEE, quiet
Cons: ugly view

Stayed two nights with the better half for a birthday weekend in the city, and we were very pleased with this hotel. Prior to our arrival we had already decided to request an upgrade - after all it was my birthday. When checking in they immediately upgraded us to a corner suite with amazing views. You know I had read on this site that previous guests had been upgraded without asking but I tend to be pessimistic and didn’t think it possible – well I guess I was wrong. Our room was spotless, and very well appointed. The robes were out of this world soft and the bed – I don’t think I have ever slept that good in a hotel before. The staff was always friendly and we were always greeted with a "hello" and a smile when passing in the hallway. Despite the great room and friendly staff, the main attraction of the Avenue Hotel is the location - just steps from some of Chicago's most iconic destinations. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Pros: staff was very personable
Cons: Did not want to leave
