Tasteful atmosphere and fabulous selection. The food is tasty and plentiful. The wine is a bit pricey, but the selection is ample. Parking is easy and in a very good neighborhood, much better and safer than I've experienced on the Northside.
Pros: Menu is diverse and provides many interesting choices
Cons: Drinks are a bit pricey

I picked this place out on line, purely went on the reviews, I have lived on the northside for 24 years and this is the BEST find. The food was so fresh and hot, when I arrived to pick it up they were finishing my order so it would be hot and fresh. We ordered some of everything. It impressed my friends who are natives of France and my friends who are not. Do not underestimate the power of this little store front.
Pros: food and service are unbelievable
Cons: none

What a charming neighborhood bistro. Wasn't sure what to expect from this open then closed then open again new lincoln park spot, but it surprised me and my friends. Dale Levitski from Top Chef has figured it out. I loved that you had 2 choices to either go with the Chef's Selection menu for a bargain at $60 or order A la Carte My husband had the short ribs and I had the Rabbit Entree, both were simply amazing.. but not so simple dishes at all. We wll definitely be back and brings friends.
Pros: RELAXED FINE DINING AT AN PRICES WE CAN AFFORD
Cons: HARD TO REACH SOME ONE ON THE PHONE

A great gem in the middle of monogamous frat bars. Every bit of the experience is well thought out from the facade of the bar to the butt shaking Latin music. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our time there and are going back with friends as soon as we can. Go see for yourself; you won't be disappointed.
Pros: Argentinan Food, Great Music, Mojito Rojo

I attended the most recent Garde Manger Grand Buffet at Kendall College on Nov 6, 2008 and it was a mind-blowing, all you can eat assortment of hors d?oeuvres, pates, mousses, terrines and charcuterie. A plated cobb salad was also available. In addition to these cold items, the hot entrees included Beef Wellington and Shrimp de Jonghe.
As great as the lunch was, the desserts were also to die for. I tried a sliver each of Pear Mousse, Mango Cheesecake, Tiramisu, Opera Cake, and flourless Chocolate Cake, each better that the last. Servers will slice the desserts paper thin if you ask so you can try as many of the dozen or so items as possible. The coffee was also delicious.
This was the first time I had been to the Dining room at Kendall College, so I guess in the back of my mind, I was expecting a school cafeteria experience - but with wine! Well, this is anything but! The 3rd floor space is open and clean with exposed brick and walls of windows. The silverware, crystal and linen rival Chicago's fine dining restaurants.
The total cost per person of $25 included the buffet, one non-alcoholic beverage, and tax. The dining room was BYOB with no corkage fee at lunch. The servers did a great job of refilling the wine and water glasses and removing the plates from the table during my many trips to the buffet table.
Warning: The buffet had 2 seatings - 12:00 and 12:30. The 12:30 reservation is fine if you don't dawdle (like we did). Otherwise, try to get the noon seating so you have time to savor every bite and finish your bottle of wine.
Pros: BYOB w/no corkage fee at lunch, free parking, friendly service
Cons: None

The interior is modern and minimalistic. The husband and wife team have done an amazing job with the interior architecture and culinary expertise. All dishes have an element of (pleasing) surprise and the fusion of flavors is fabulous. Don't expect to order a margarita since their focus is really on the food and wine parings. A definite must! We would recommend reservations on the weekend.
Pros: great food and service
Cons: no mixed drinks

I first stumbled upon Crepe Bistro while I was visiting a friend at Northwestern University (one of their other locations).
I quickly learned that this was truly a unique little restaurant.
The food was prepared quickly and was very good.
I did not realize that some of most interesting combinations could taste so good!
My favorite is the chocolate crepe....delicious!
When we were told that there was a location in the city - closer to where I attend school - my friends and I made sure to make it a routine stop for lunch!
I highly recommend this place!
Pros: very friendly, great atmosphere, wide selection, affordable

Great caterers!! I've never eaten in the restaurant, but they catered our wedding and it was absolutely fabulous. The food was so delicious--it was all vegetarian because that's what we asked for, but even the most carnivorous of our relatives love the food! And the staff was amazing. They help with everything from distributing the wedding programs to helping us get good photos, in addition to the food-service related work. And the room looked gorgeous!
They also cost much less than the corporate-type caterers we looked into. Real people who cooperate with you to keep costs down while not compromising quality.
Pros: great service and catered food
Cons: nothing really
