They have one of the best locations in the city - right off Michigan Avenue and in the heart of the downtown shopping area. No wonder it can get crowded in here at times. West Egg is a great place to get breakfast before heading out to do some shopping or enjoy the cultural activities the city has to offer. They have decent specials at West Egg and the food is very fresh and the portions are hearty. They are located inside the Pittsfield Bldg.

Very popular place so make reservations if you're coming at peak hours. My suggestion- "Buried Treasure Pancakes" they have blueberries. Yum.

Having worked in this area before where West Egg is located, I went there recently with a friend of mine for lunch. We both had omlettes and were very satisfied with how they turned out. One thing I like about this place is if you want coffee they will serve it in a small carafe so you don't have to ask for refills all the time...in addition I think they use real cream for the half and half...both pluses in my book. If there is a downside, it is a little pricey...we paid about $10 apiece. But all in all a great experience and they also have fast service so if time is a factor, this is a good place to go.

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots. It gets crowded on the weekend but usually they get you in and out pretty quickly. The omelets are okay... I prefer the pancakes and homestyle potatoes. Whatever you order I recommend getting a side of potatoes you won't be sorry. The one downside to this place is it can be a little dirty. The high traffic means dishes get used a lot and the rushed staff doesn't always do a great job of cleaning the tables.
