I have frequently found the service, while good, somewhat inconsistent.
THis would be a good place for large groups who have a lot of different tastes.

The hot fuge cookie sundae is good. The place is pretty expensive, so I would advice saving it for a "special" night.

Shaw's is a sure favorite of ours to enjoy a really nice meal in a great setting. What I like about this place is its atmosphere. It is dimly lighted, with dark wooden furniture. It's a sophisticated place for sure. Their menu is wonderful too. It features fresh seafood specialties and also many steak and meat selections. I like having an elegant meal in a quiet setting here. My husband and I always like to start off at the bar and have a drink casually and them move into our nice booth to enjoy dinner. This palce is pricey but I think it is worth it for the quality food and the great atmosphere.

The crab legs are also huge and delicious, served hot or cold with drawn better. Shaw's also serves a fine aged steak, as well as other fish entrees.

I've been to the main location in Chicago, and to the one near Woodfield Mall. I had wonderful food at both.
I recommend eating in the bar. It adds charm to the experience, especially if you are going to be eating oysters.
They do some amazing specials, just don't have a heart attack when the bill comes. It is expensive, but if you want excellent, fresh, sea food, this is the place to go.

This is one of Rich Melman's early Lettuce entertain you restaurants, and it is still worth a visit if you are a sea food lover.
They do good work here. Great, fresh sea food properly cooked, attentive service, enjoyable ambiance; its all here.
Pictures of some of their suppliers grace the walls of the Oyster bar, which has a cajun theme. They have live music a few nights a week, or go next door to Andy's before or after you eat and enjoy some great jazz.
I have always had good experiences in this place. They have other locations too which I have not been to.Worth a visit!

Seasonal seafood is flown in daily from the Atlantic, the Gulf and the Pacific Coast to this popular River North spot. Many of the restaurant's fish and seafood suppliers are pictured on the walls of Shaw's Oyster Bar (formerly Blue Crab Lounge), a New Orleans-themed oyster bar with old blues and torch recordings on the sound system. The Bar seats about 120; the main dining room, pricier and more formal, seats 250. Special attractions include "Oyster Hour" 4:30-6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; winemaker dinners pairing seafood with wines; and the weeklong "Royster with the Oyster" festival in October.
