My 1st Ruth's experience was in Louisville, Ky on top of a building. I was blown away by the food and atmosphere. So when I finally went to the one in Chicago I was like how can this one top Louisville being here on Dearborn St? Well it did maybe even surpassed in service! Same 500 degree plate with delectable aged steak sizzling on top! Being in the VIP Concierge Business I have hit them all around the River North area and Ruth's is right there on top. Fantastic service from the time I walked in the door! Well worth the money and well worth having a meal! I'll be back and will send many customers Ruth's way!
Pros: The Meat and those hot plates hot til the last bite!
Cons: It's not across the street from my house!

My Friend and I went to Ruth's Chris by accident. We were just out walking and having a good time and he said "I smell meat! I'm hungry follow me" So off we go in seach of the wonderful smells. We found ourselves in the doors of an amazing place. We were ushered right in to the bar to await our table. We waited no more than 15 minutes. We had the lamb chops and prime rib. This was the most memorable meal for both of us. We both recommend Ruth's Chris to anyone who wants to experience a true dining experience. ENJOY!
Pros: Wonderful Staff, Knowledgeable and Polite

On my first visit to Chicago, I decided to eat at places that would make the event memorable. The friendly coat and hat check attendant started the great service that extended to the waiters, bus boys, servers and maitre' d. The dining experience was upscale, but the patrons and staffs were not snobbish. My waitress made excellent suggestions for me: creole style barbeque shrimp,, stuffed lobster, sweet potato casserole, cesar salad were served with a mineral water called Panna. Everything delicious, hot fresh. The servers never allow your drinks to be low and are super attentive. One draw back fo me is that everything on the menu is served a la carte, so you kind of have to know how to build your meal based on all the choices ( something I am not particulary good at)
Pros: service, food quality, ambience, location, food selection
Cons: pricey

I am not a steak person. I don't eat it at home. I don't generally want it or like it. But wow, I will eat steak at a place like this. My experience at this Ruth's Chris was luxurious, indulgent, and worth every penny. I had the ribeye and it was fantastic. The sweet potato side dish was scrumptious, and the key lime pie dessert huge and creamy. I'd definitely go back!
Pros: Delicious food, attentive and helpful waiter
Cons: Expensive

I took my husband to Ruth's Chris in Chicago for his birthday with a group of 6. Most of us had never been there before. We had 9:00 reservations but they were able to get us in at 7:30 which worked out better for us since we had more activities planned for the evening. The food was wonderful. The whole group of us ordered steaks and chicken and every meal turned out just perfect. Our waiter Andy was top notch. All his suggestions proved to be the very best. We all couldn't rave more about the service and food. Andy was even able to accomodate our evening plans by getting us to the head of the line at the dualing piano bar Howl at the Moon that is right next door! We will definitly be going back the next time we go to Chicago. This is a must try resturant. You won't be disappointed.

In my personal opinion Ruth's Chris Steak House has the best steaks in Chicago. My mother took me there about 2 years ago for my birthday and I loved it. When I graduated from college in March 2007, my mother said that I could have my graduation dinner whereever I wanted. Guess whom I chose? Their steaks are tender and always cooked just right. Be careful! Do not touch the hot plate. I have eaten at some of the other place such as Morton's but, they didn't measure up. I would recommend this restaurant to any adult that loves a great steak, cooked just right. The atmosphere and staff are great! Reservations are strongly recommended. This is the only steak house that I have personally been to that's crowded Sun.-Sat. So, the next time you are in the mood for a great steak, great service and great atmosphere give Ruth's a chance and you will not in any way be disappointed.
Pros: Ambience, atmoshpere, food, and service
Cons: Without reservations the wait time is long and the parking can be a little unnerving.

I took my girlfriend there for her birthday and from the beginning the service and food were great.
Once we arrived for dinner, we were seated promptly. For our appetizer we shared the escargot and lobster bisque. Both were fantastic. For our main course I had the rib eye and she had the filet. Both were cooked perfectly to order and the size of the portions were good as well.
For dessert we had a slice of chocolate mousse cheese cake which was decorated with her name and a "Happy Birthday". I know it's nothing out of the ordinary, but always a nice way to cap off a good birthday meal.
Overall, it was a great dinner. Not the lowest priced place in the world, but an excellent restaurant to splurge if youre in the mood for a great steak.
Pros: Service, Food
Cons: Pricey
