This is a small old fashion cafe that offers delicious coffees and great food. As a vegetarian, there are many options avaliable. The sandwiches are made with the freshest vegetables, my only concern is the price. The prices continue to go up and now its like 8 or 9 dollars for a sandwich. The food is good but overpriced, that is why I chose Satisfactory. If you are looking to go to a nice lunch and spend the money, then this is the place. If you are looking for a reasonable cafe meal, this is not the right place to go.

I love this place. Really friendly staff and good coffee. What can I say? Try The Sun Also Rises. AMAZING. Nice find for sure.

I've never dined in here, but the other night I was craving breakfast food at 9PM. After a little online searching, I happened upon the Pig -- which serves breakfast all day, every day. I ordered the breakfast burrito and a side of fruit, and they both were to die for. You can tell they make everything fresh, daily. The best part about it was they delivered my late night breakfast meal by bicycle. How quaint! I'll definitely order from them again, and when the weather is nicer, I'll stroll over there to check out their old victorian decor.

The "Pig" as DePaul students affecionately call it is one of this neighborhood's best kept secrets. It's a small cafe in an antique Lincoln Park house with loyal, regular customers that keep coming back for the amazing menu and atmosphere that is truly one-of-a-kind! Dilectable gourmet homemade sandwiches, soups, salads, great breakfast items, ice creams, a treasure trove of homemade baked goods, an enormous list of gourmet teas, and of course, great coffee are what keep this place in business.
During the quiet periods, it's a great place to relax with a coffee and a book, and if you don't have your own to read, they have shelves stocked with them. It's often busy, but never too crowded, and even when it's busy, the service is still great and not too slow.
This place is a must for anyone who enjoys a genuine and unique experience with great food!
Pros: Atmosphere and Food
Cons: None

This little cafe offers excellent coffee and tea, plus healthy hearty salads, and an endless list of tasty sandwiches! It is a great place to hang out with friends for a coffee, or grab lunch to go and head to the beach or park! Be patient though, good things come to those who wait, and they put a lot of love into preparing your food!
Pros: great salads, excellent and strong coffee
Cons: be prepared to wait a while for your food

This is a nice, mellow coffee shop. Good coffee & tea, and a huge selection of tasty salads and sandwiches. Everything about it is nice besides being a little cramped at times and fairly slow service of food items. But well-worth it in my eyes and a very nice change from the cookie cutter coffee shops that we mostly find in the US nowadays.
Pros: Great variety, mellow atmosphere, unique
Cons: A litte cramped and slow food service (but made fresh)

I heard about the Pig through a friend who was staying in the studios up by DePaul. Naturally, the DePaul/Sheffield clientele is huge -- expect to hear premed students studying & chatting away on the second floor.
A place like this makes for a great getaway. Cramped, broken-in, full of character. The second floor is the perfect place to put in five hours on the laptop while nursing a cup of the most exotic tea you could think of. The floors are grungy, creaky hardwood with plenty to line the walls, from old funky pictures to bookcases. Don't come hungry. Rather, don't come hungry and poor. The food menu is a bit overblown, and too expensive. I'd lose the gimmicky, literary sandwiches with fancy ingredients and simplify -- the college crowd wouldn't miss it. The coffee menu has you covered whatever your tastes, and the aforementioned tea selection is said to be the largest.
A great getaway. Make it your new library -- it sorta feels like one already, except the "Catcher in the Rye" is tastier.
