Visited Chicago...Stayed at The Drake...Ran the Lake. Found this place. I was impressed. L'appetito is sort of underneath Michigan ave, yet has an outdoor patio as well as a seating area inside the restaurant.
I had the Italian ice around 12 and a Vegetarian sandwich at about 4:22. Both were excellent and relatively inexpensive.
I probably will not fly to Chicago to eat at L'appetito, but if I lived there, I would probably be a regular.

L'Appetito is a good place to go for Italian deli. I like their paninis and chicken salad. The coffee is good too. They also sell olive oil, chips, crackers, and other assorted Italian grocery items. In the summer they have a small outdoor seating area. It's a good place to go for a sandwich that is under $5.
