To be honest, I usually come here just to try out some of their snacks which they usually let the guest do. Their price is too high, they sell the snack by ounces. It is a good place if you're not sure what you want and start sampling, but you can get things cheaper in the surrounding ethic groceries in China Town.

I used to take the 56 Milwaukee bus all the time to and from Michigan Avenue. As I would get within a mile of Blommer's, I would stick my head out the window to get a whiff of that wonderful armoma filling the air. You can literally get a sugar high just by driving past the place. It's wonderful. During the week you can visit their little store and pick up bulk chocolate, candy kisses, chocolate cigars (for passing out when the wee ones are born) and all kinds of other chocolate treats for a great price. And it's fresh off the factory line and always yummy.

I have been a big fan of Fannie May Chocolate since I was very young and introduced to it by one of our neighbors for Easter. You talk about chocolate heaven! You can't do any better than Fannie May, just ask any one that has tried it! As kids we didn't get chocolate of this type because it was to expensive, because of that I try to treat my girls to it at least a few times a year. Last year I stumbled upon something that I never knew they did ~ they came out with an Advent Calendar!! I was so excited I bought one for each of the girls to count down to the night before Christmas, they loved it and so this year I've done the same thing. It gives them something to look forward to, they aren't constantly asking 'how many more days until Christmas' and they get a little chocolate treat every day to look forward to!

If you really want to impress someone or win somebody over (ie: a date or your significant other), you need to go here. This place has an awesome line of chocolates. Most of them come wrapped in these beautiful gold boxes that add a very exquisite touch to an already fine chocolate. You should plan on dropping a pretty penny here, but rest assured that you are definitely getting some really tasty and fine chocolates. Want to impress me? Pick up a box of their chocolate covered strawberries for me and you are number one on my list!!

But what their speciality really is are the newspapers, magazines, and snacks. They have a good selection that is always up to date and extensive and there are never any lines and the service is good which is really great.

This is the place to go to pick up a cake for the ultimate chocolate lover. I always like to preorder my cakes so that I can get it done exactly the way I want it. They make the cakes perfectly, with tons of good chocolate. They also sell freshly made chocolates and truffles here that are irresistable. I find it hard to even walk past this store without going in and picking up some of their fresh chocolates.

For an authentic Pakistani breakfast of Halwa puri, this is the place. They have an awesome aloo paratha, not to mention their shami kababs, and my absolute favorite dahi baray! I am certainly not recommending this place based on their ambience, but the food is good, the prices are excellent, and if you are feeling cold, you must have a kashmiri chai!

You will feel like you stepped back in time and into a really old fashioned candy shop when you come into this store. I think this place has been around for a very long again. It is a very cute place, with lots of yummy and sweet delights. The milkshakes and caramels here are some of the best I have had in my life. But the shop is small and seating inside is really limited. Also, the shop inside is not all that great so you might not even want to sit inside but rather just pick up a bunch of goodies and go.

If you're a chocoholic, then Margie's Candies will make your day. Margie's is a traditional ice cream soda fountain, with just enough kitsch to make your sundae taste that much better. Prices are pretty reasonable, and the menu itself is rather extensive. One of my friends is an absolute dessert nut, and he salivates at the mention of Margie's.
