I used to always get my coffee and breakfast from this place all the time, because it is right next the Sheridan Red Line stop. They really do have great breakfast sandwiches. Their coffee is good, but I wouldn't tell anyone that it was more special than the next coffee shop.

Emerald City Coffee is right next to the Sheridan stop of the Red Line, so it's convenient to grab a cup of coffee before heading onto the train. They also have good specialty coffee, such as lattes. Their sweets are decent, and I like their little cookies. I've had a sandwich from here, and was disappointed. It's as good as I could have made at home by slapping some lunchmeat on two slices of bread. They also offer soups, which I've never tried.

This is a great place to grab a cup of coffee to go or to meet with friends. There is usually loud music playing (the owner seems to live punk, which is kind of cool). The food/snacks here seem to leave something to be desired, but the new location (it used to be down the street) is super convenient -- you can now go straight into the red line L stop -- to get a coffee in the morning on your way to work.
