Talk about "up in smoke" - before the law was passed banning cigarettes in Chicago, this little place looked like a Cheech and Chong movie! You would open the doors and a thousand pounds of smoke would hit you in the face. Yuck.
It's actually not a bad little place...if you're under 20 years of age. They are usually packed with (sometimes) annoying teenagers, but the place itself is pretty cool. They have light snacks, board games, good music and a place to hang out for an hour or two.

Unique is one word to describe this cafe that must now be struggling after the city passed it's no-smoking laws. It is only open in the evenings which for one is weird. It used to be packed with teenagers looking to smoke here and escape their folks house for a while and sit with one cup of coffee for two hours. Nowdays I don't know how they are going to make it; no smoking, open only in evenings, no advertising and not much to offer anyone. There are so many competitors in the area that are offering good hours of operation, good foods, a friendly atmosphere and even live entertainment. I hope Sun Cafe finds a way to "brighten" things up a bit.
