Paper Source is a great resource for your paper needs, especially if you're crafty and would like to have blank cards and envelopes of all sorts to customize with your own designs. They have great ideas for invites as well, wrapping paper that can be used in a variety of projects, great stamps, scrapbooking supplies and more. Sign up on their web site for their newsletters so you don't miss their twice-yearly warehouse sale- braving the crowds is WELL worth it!

This place looks kind of like a museum from the outside. Inside, its filled with lots of books and memorobilia about Abraham Lincoln. There's lots of stuff at this store pretaining to the Civil War -- tons of books, paintings, and more. Its definitely a really unique place and has lots of interesting items that are a lot of fun to browse through.

I like the store Papyrus mainly for one thing. That one thing is their selection for picture frames. They have such unique and beautiful designs and they look great for your own home or as gifts to friends and family. I don't think I have seen any other store with such a beautiful selection of frames. They also have nice greeting cards and gift wrapping and bags section, but the picture frames are by far their best feature. They are a bit high priced, but worth it for the unique item you are getting.

The Paper Source is a GREAT place for any sort of gift for anyone who likes do it yourself stuff, crafts, or just a clever piece of paperwork. There are all the things here for you to design your own cards, scrapbooks and stationary and all the pens, cutting and writing materials you'll need, too. On top of that, the Paper Source has lots of already-made cards, wrapping paper and lots of interesting and uniquely-made gifts. They're really helpful and have a huge inventory of everything, so you'll always find what you need. A Highly valued place for me, and any other craftster out there.

Throughout my lifetime, I have had so many jobs that I lost count (ah yes, the life of the non traditional is wild). And this was one of them. I briefly worked at this wonderful company and it was a great experience to see what makes them tick. They are of course the publishers of some of the top magazines in the world, but they also own HBO. HBO is a highly honored cable station and they continually present some of the most cutting edge, innovative and enjoyable programs on television. Time Warner is certainly a media dynamo and they have personally brought me a lot of joy and entertainment throughout my lifetime. Thanks, Time!!

Apple signs is an old company specializing in making signs. they have made lots of the signs and banners that you see around chinatown. They do an excellent job at a reasonable price. I recommend trying them out if you need a special sign made up for your event or company.

There is a classic Seinfeld episode with George's dad and his "obsession" over his TV Guide. I can relate. Whenever my TG is late in arriving in my mailbox, I repeat Mr. Costanzo's rant of "Where's my TV Guide??!!" I look forward to reading it every week. And now, as Robert said, they are more of an entertainment publication and that's just fine with me. I love the articles and great photos (although the celebrity airbrushed photos do crack me up...) but it's such a good magaine. I just wish they would have better listings (i.e. detailed local programming and 24 hour listings for Chicago shows).

Since we send out over 50 X-Mas cards a year, I need to find a place with great deals. Party City is just that place!
They have cards that are 75% off and they are nice cards too. Most discount stores have good priced cards, but they look cheap. Not here!
At Party City you can choose from 100's of styles of cards for every celebration of this time of year. Whether you want religious cards, funny cards, seasonal cards or something in between, Party City has it!
They also have the lowest prices around. I have not been able to find this nice of cards for this low of a price anywhere else.

If you are like me and need to send a lot of cards out, but cannot afford to pay a premium price, than Party City is for you!

Made famous in the late 60's, their original covers featured the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Who and more of the biggest and best that music has to offer. Over the last several years, I don't care for some of the features and the fact that they have to include so much mainstream pop and hip hop/rap people now. Putting that aside, they have had some great writers and contributors throughout the years including Cameron Crowe and Hunter S. Thompson.
If you want to see what it was like to be a part of their magazine and their roots, check out some scenes from the (outstanding Cameron Crowe film) Almost Famous. He was only a kid when he wrote for the magazine as he toured the country with rock stars. How cool is that?

I recently threw my sister a bridal shower and this was where I went to get invites printed. This store is so cool. They can actually do calligraphy by hand for each card. They have a million samples to choose from and they work really hard with you to draw up an invite that is unique and very occassion appropriate. The guy at the store was really nice and he really spend time showing us a bunch of samples. The end result was perfect! We got tons of compliments. If you are looking for really unique stuff and don't mind paying a little bit extra for it, then this is a great place to shop.
