This place has terrible acoustics. You can't hear anything at times. The ventilation in this place also sucks. It was cramped and too hot. One thing that I will say for this place is that when it isn't jam packed and you can look around in quiet it is a very beautiful place, but not worth paying to see a concert at.

I've been going to see concerts here for about 10 years now. Uptown used to be a lot more scary, but I've always loved coming here. It's hard to tell when a concert is going on, but it actually is a beautiful ballroom and I like being able to get up close to the action if I want to, or just hang out in the back of the room and not get trampled. Of course some of that depends on the show, but that's usually how most general admissions shows go. Something about the Aragon just makes me feel like this is they way concerts are supposed to be. After going here, it is hard to see shows at the United Center or Allstate Arena where you buy your seats for twice as much that end up being way far away from the stage anyway.

The first time I went here it was to see some cool 80's bands play. (I think Marshall Crenshaw and the Stray Cats, if I'm not mistaken). I've been back a handful of times since then, but I have to tell you, I don't love it here. I'm being kind by giving it 3 stars. The place gets packed, smells so bad, and you sometimes get beer or (heaven knows what else) dumped down your back. If you don't mind standing in a sweaty room with wild dudes pounding their fists in the air, then this is the place for you. The Aragon does get in some great concerts however, and public transportation is right at the door so that's cool.
