Much like Marvell Tower, Talro is another low-cost insurer in Chicago. They have much cheaper rates than the national insurance companies, but this is largely because the insurers they represent are somewhat unreliable and cannot be really trusted in case you have a serious accident.
Case in point: I had to make a claim. After making the initial report, I could never ever talk to the claims adjuster ever again. Every single time I called, I got put on indefinite hold. They eventually did pay off the claim, but they dropped my policy immediately afterwards. Basically, you get what you pay for.

Wamu has been an awesome place to bank. This branch was extremely helpful when my sister opened her bank account. They even sent her a birthday/Christmas card this year! I love the teller stations (they don't have a window like most places). The colors and decor are just awesome as well. It feels trendy and modern.

I Have been with Alan for many years. As an accountant he remembers you and all your details from year to year. Actually almost freakishly, and I love it. It makes feel like he cares about his clients. His office staff is always very friendly. I like that I can call him up with questions or problems and he always is calming and efficient with his response and solutions. It is hard to have someone to help take care of your business and he is the person... for me anyway. He is so good that I wish you luck getting an appointment.
Pros: dependability, security, efficient
Cons: Call early in the tax season for appointments, he fills up fast!

Ms. Sullivan is an excellent accountant. I like dealing with someone who takes the time to explain everything to me. Bridget Sullivan does this really well. All my questions are answered, my suggestions are taken seriously. I have confidence that my accounts are properly and professionally done. Ive had two friends switch accountants because of the excellent experience Ive had here.

Year after year I always come back to Padilla's to do my taxes because they are very knowledgeable on the newest tax laws. They also take the time to find the most deductions possible, there pricing is very affordable compared to most major tax accounting chains.

J S Ritcher at this company is my personal accountant. He is a great accountant and he really knows his stuff well. He makes accounting and tax preparation really easy. He is a flexible person and you can make appointments to see him whenever it fits your schedule best. He will even mail and fax forms out to you so that things get done in a timely manner. Overall, he is a great accountant to have. If you don't need an accountant, he is also a great source to go to have your taxes done!

I've had Blue Cross-Blue Shield for several years now and I am qutie happy with their insurance plan. The good thing about being a part of BCBS is that they have a lot of great doctors in their network so you always get good care, no matter what part of the country you are in. Just be sure to pick a good plan for yourself and don't get fooled by a few of their plans that have you paying for a lot more than you actually get.

A few articles ago I explained the distinction between 'real' and 'street-legal' insurance. Basically, one type, you buy, because you really want the financial protection; the other type, you buy just so that you won't get a ticket if the cops stop you.
I think Magnum Insurance sort of falls more in the middle. They don't seem as dodgy and unreliable as the other low cost insurers, but they're pretty cheap nonetheless. They have a large Hispanic clientele, so if you prefer to speak Spanish you'll be able to do business in Espanol with them.
A friend was insured by them for 2 years. Now, she never had a claim, so we never got to see how their customer service was like, but she has pretty low tolerance for dodginess, so the fact that she remained with them is a good thing, I suppose.
I would recommend Magnum if you are looking to get insurance that may be more reliable but still won't cost you more than your car's worth. (note: you should only be the market for cheap insurance if, in fact, 'regular' insurance premiums would cost more than your car is worth)
