Definately the lunch special. Food is better than most of the chinatown restaurants (I think- though it's hard to remember). I just went recently, and the people were totally sweet without being pushy. We also got lots of extras- along with a huge entree, rice, soup and almond-cookie dessert. Carry on, Seven Wives, Whomever you are.

I found another Chinese restaurant last year that we enjoy. Nowdays instead of just dining in or picking up from just one Chinese rest. we have three or four that we can choose from. I like the egg foo young, fried rice and egg rolls from here. I have yet to try anything else from here. Based on the quality of what I have tried I'll bet everything is tasty from this nice looking business. The interior has lots of decorations that look authentic and their service is very good.

Far East is a great place to get good thai food. The thai food they serve here is really tasty and one of the best around.
Make sure that when you go here you have their crab rangoon and pad thai. Both of those menu items are superb and a must try. The crab rangoon was suggested to me by one of their waitresses and I was blown away by this dish because it was so good!
The waitresses here are really friendly and will treat you right no matter what time of day you go in and not matter how big or small your party is.

The food at the Far East Kitchen is pretty good, though it costs slightly more than I'm usually looking to pay when I go out in Hyde Park. It's a chill place with stereotypical Chinese decor and the oldies station playing quietly from one corner. The old couple that run it are very sweet and seem to always be there.
Like I said, the food is perfectly passable, but I don't often crave Chinese food, so I'd just as soon go to Chinatown when I do. I love the Far East Kitchen as a place to have some peaceful drinks with my friends. It's quiet, friendly, and it has a remarkably extensive drink menu. Ok, the zombies are highly inconsistent, the martinis are 25% vermouth, and kir royale tastes like it was made with Manischewitz. That's not the point.
The point is that this place is awesome, and by awesome, I mean totally sweet. The egg rolls are massive and they cost $3.50. The drinks are strong most of the time, though, like I said, they are entirely inconsistent. The people are very nice. The glassware is superb. Zombies come in tiki head glasses with the garnish on giraffe toothpicks. Nuff said.
