I was always skeptical of this place due to the reviews. I live close to this location, and finally decided to check it out. Well let me tell you that the reviews were so wrong! The food was awesome! The service was top notch! I went there on a wednesday, which is half off all appetizers and $ 5 martinis, which there is about 25 diff kinds. The crab cakes and spinach and artichoke dip are out of this world. The peartini and the vegas pink kitty is something everyone should try once in their life time. The decor is really nice. Six plasma tv's with sports games and then changed to old school music videos. All in all you should really stop in and enjoy what i got to enjoy. i ususally go to the bar accross the street. Actually, I never really thought much of this place. There were a couple times when the "girls of Plush" would come in and buy cigarettes wearing next to nothing (usually high heels or boots and nothing but a "teddy" on) and would obviously get the attention of the guys. So when me and a friend of mine reconnected, we decided to check this place out after couple rounds at the bar accross the street. We went it and I thought it looked like a decent sized "lounge style" place, featuring a dj mixing old school hip hop music videos. To my surprise, there weren't alot of people as I thought. Probably the only action was a group of Asians (possibly an Asian soroity from nearby UIC) having a night out. Too bad they weren't attractive at all. But anyway, I guess the only plus of the night was my friend bought for the entire night. That is until the last round. my interaction with the bartender was horrible. I don't think she got our drinks correct and also there was a $20 dollar minimum when I attempted to charge on my card (thanks for not telling me). So, I ended up wasting money on drinks I didn't even want (but drank anyway) and thus what would've been a 3 star rating becomes 2. So, WHERE WERE THOSE GIRLS THAT USUALLY WEAR NEXT TO NOTHING THAT NIGHT?!?! Trust me, I was pretty much bored to tears that night and if those ladies showed up...well, I wouldn't rate this place so low now, whould I? Pros: DJ, music, spacious place Cons: HORRIBLE STAFF, parking, hidden costs, WHERE'S THE WOMEN?!?!

Last week I decided to give Plush a try, and let me tell you it was well worth it. I came in on a Friday night around 8pm. Right when I walked inside I knew it was going to be a great time. From the friendly greeting I got from the man at the door to the great looking Mid 20's to 30's crowd I knew this was my new spot. I sat down at my table on these huge plush couches made with red velvet, the table was coated in a red glitter which I thought was pretty cool. The waitress asked me what I would like to drink and recommended their martinis, so I looked over the martini list and let me tell you there are a lot to chose from my favorite was the Vegas Pink Kitty a martini that she told me was created by the owner. For dinner I started with the crispy calamari it was amazing probably the best I have had in the city, for my main course I picked the salmon which was the special of the night, It blew me away. Finally to my surprise around 10:00pm a DJ came in and the vibe changed people were singing and dancing and having a great time. All in all I came for dinner and drinks at 8pm and stayed till 2am in the morning if your looking for a one stop shop this is it from a relaxing dinner restaurant to transforming into a lounge, it has everything you need to have a great night on the town. Myself and a friend had drinks and dinner at Plush on a friday night. I must say I have gone to this place tons of times. However on this one day things just did not feel the same, my waitress whom normally takes care of me seemed a little distance this day. My food was the pitts after finding the courage to speak with my waitress about the whole thing she became clueless. Long story short I was not pleased with her response as well the owners. I asked for my bill after explaining my concerns to my waitress I informed her that I would only pay for my drinks. Due to me not being happy with my food as well her negativie response well I'm not sure what she told the door person or the owners but they asked me to leave. Not once then anyone wish to here what my side of the story the door person was very humble I must say however it appeared that he was pressured to ask me for payment of the food. It contiune to appear as if no one was hearing me I then paid for my drinks and decided to leave. I never felt so disrespected in my whole entire time of dining at Plush. For myself this is not a place I wish to go back I wish them all the best in there bussiness however customer service must improve. Pros: N/A Cons: N/A

I booked a birthday party there last year. No one would return any phone calls when i tried to make reservations. When someone finally answered the phone, they told me that my reservation was confirmed. When i got there, it was a totally different thing. No one knew who i was and my space wasnt reserved. Good thing i got there early. Drinks are very expensive but the atmosphere is nice. Great to go and meet people but not so great if you want to book a party there. Pros: atmosphere, atmosphere Cons: get there early for parking, HORRIBLE SERVICE

I recently booked my birthday party at Plush Restaurant. When one of my first guests arrived she ordered a martini, took one sip and hated the taste of it. Now I've been to 'hole in the walls' as well as some of the best restaurants in Chicago and if you're not satisfied with an entree, a drink, a soda, an appetizer --whatever, they haven't hesitated to take it back. Particularly if you've barely touched it. But the waitress insisted she wouldn't take it back. That's not the worst part, after we finally decided we'd just have to pay for the drink, she ordered another and never got it. I went to tell the guy who I booked the party with, and before I could finish he interrupted me saying 'I know what you're going to ask me about, and I can't do it.' He didn't even know what I was gonna say! I was so offended at this point. Secondly, another of my guests had been ordering a drink all night from the waitress that was serving our party and being charged $10. When he went to the bar later that night the EXACT same drink was $5! Which leads me to believe the people in MY party had been overcharged the entire night. Third, yet another of my guests ordered a guinness. When the waitress walked over with it in a bottle before he touched it he said 'I didn't want the bottle, I wanted it on tap'. She said 'we don't have it on tap', which he didn't know. But of course she wouldn't take it back. So there was yet another drink that no one wanted but we still had to pay for. Last but not least, when I first explored the website, there was an advertisement saying that booking a birthday party gets you a complimentary bottle of champagne. Of course, I never got that. Overall the food was actually good, but the service was highly offensive to say the least. Pros: Food, atmosphere Cons: Terrible customer service.

We got a nice table and great bar service. The place is cute and quiet. I guess the only bad thing was that we were practically the only customers in there. This bar sounded like it was right up my alley. Nice plush couches and a cool atmosphere... man was I wrong. Spent $80 a person for a night of lounging and free top shelf drinks. Talk about the worst NYE experience possible. While the bartenders were trying their best, it still took at least a half hour of waiting to get a drink. If the fire marshall was there, they would have been busted for being over capacity. Nobody could even move, let alone dance. Even if there was room to dance, something about playing 3 dance remixes of Coldplay songs within a 1 hour period just didnt sit well with me. Forget about finding somwhere to sit. There is no way I would ever go to this bar again even if everything was free. The $80 was a rip off, the drinks were WEAK, the music was god awful, they completely oversold and overcrowded the place, and to top it all off, there is a MANDATORY coat check. My girlfriend was wearing a little sweater and they forced her to take it off, and were complete jerks about it. They force you to take your coat off, then do not tell you that it costs $2 per coat until you go to pick up your coat. How cheap can a place be? This place obviously has no regard for its customers, and I hope they lose a lot of money next year because of it. P.S. my group of friends mutually agreed to leave the NYE party at 11pm. It was impossible to have fun at Plush. W didn't like the atmosphere either, we were all talking about how all the girls there looked like annoying little princesses with bad attitudes. I guess I cannot blame them though, I am sure they were not having fun. I have not written many reviews but I came on here to urge people that this bar is just money hungry and does not care about its customers, your time is best spent elsewhere. Pros: None unless you like getting drinks spilled on you by waitresses Cons: Tried my hardest to have fun, but ended up leaving.
