I expected the long wait (almost 2 hrs even though the sign said the wait would be 1 hour) and the high cost ($50 for family of 4) but after the wait & cost, I did not expect to be CRAMMED into the elevator like sardines. My 77yr old mother was with me and was being smashed. It was ridiculous. The attendant kept asking us to "take a baby step back". I finally yelled back at her that there was no more room and maybe some people needed to wait for the next elevator. I am a Chicago native and have visited the skydeck before but I will never go again. There was also no one there who could tell me how to address my concerns with the Skydeck management.
Pros: Great views
Cons: Customer service

Sears Tower is absolutely one of my favorite places in Chicago. I know it is quite a ways to the top of it, where the Skydeck is so keep your eyes close if you're afraid of heights (at least until you get off the elevator). You have to pay a minimal amount to go up there but the view is amazing!

The attraction shuts down on windy days, which is pretty often actually -- but when it's up, a lot of tourists flock to get up there. The views are pretty breathtaking, but I'm not sure we got our money's worth, as you can only look out the windows for so long before going back down.

The Sears Tower Skydeck is one of the destinations we take our out of town visitors to see so they can experience the tallest building in the city. The building has 110 floors and if you are afraid of heights, then I would recommend you stay away. Their elevators have televisions so you can pass the time while you wait to arrive on the top floor. The views are amazing.

Would you like to know the best way to see Chicago? Go to the Sears Tower! At Sears tower you can see views from all over Chicago. They say you can see over 40 miles on a clear day. I'm not sure how far I saw but if you use the telescopes you can even read the signs that are far away. In my opinion, the best time to visit is either at dusk or at night. At night the lights on the buildings are beautiful. Admission is around $12 for adults and around $9 for kids. It's not a cheap attraction but it certainly is worth the money.

The Sears Tower is the tallest building in Chicago, and it has a great view. I prefer the view from the Hancock building, however. While both give you a very panoramic view of Chicago and surrounding areas, the Hancock building gives you a better perspective on downtown Chicago and other areas. Either way, make sure if you're visiting Chicago that you go up in one of the two towers because its a view to remember.

Beautiful views of Chicago and on a clear day they say you can see all the way to Canada- I doubt it but its a nice thought!
PROS: Spectacular view
CONS: Priced High, Crowded.

This is one of the best sites to visit in Chicago. One of the tallest buildings in the world, it gives a superb view of Chicago from the top. The skydeck is well organized with info tablets all over the place and coin-operated telescopes all around. A decent food court at the bottom of the building completes the need for a weekend outing.
