We had to come here because our usual pool joint was booked and what a pleasant surprise. The tables are well maintained. The cues are good enough. The pool room is AMAZING with super high ceilings, large windows that open up for a great breeze on a warm night, and funky old chandeliers. Lots of people but not crowned and the price was right on the money. We will definitely start coming here more often. Pros: Fantastic space for shooting pool Cons: None that I noticed

This place is most definitely not the best place to bowl, but it definitely is a lot of fun. People go here for the local atmosphere and getting crazy with their friends. This is a nice place to challenge some friends in a weird bowling atmosphere. The drinks and food are good, but nothing out of the norm. Eat first, and play later.

The positive comment I have about Southport Lanes is that the food, for bar food is good. Just good, not great. Also, consider yourself warned that Southport Lanes gets relatively crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. As far as bowling is concerned there are much better places to go bowling in the city. I found the bowling staff rude and inconsiderate. The prices to bowl was ludicrous. In addition, the bowling portion of the bar is rather tiny. If you want to go there for entertainment, you are better off playing pool. There are better bars to visit out Southport Ave.

The lanes are O.K., the shoes look like they are as old as the business and they are proud of it. The weekends are impossible if you are from the neighborhood because they are overrun. Food takes forever. Sometimes the staff is friendly, sometimes they don't care, just pay them. Pros: neighborhoody, cool look Cons: expenisive, staff is indifferent, no parking
