If you're interested in art, architecture or design, this is probably the best bookstore in the city of Chicago. Whether you're a student, hobbyist, remodeling or building a home, you'll definitely find something inspiring or captivating somewhere inside, and chances are you'll end up taking at least one book home with you. Knowledgeable staff and an amazing selection, you really can't go wrong here.

This place looks kind of like a museum from the outside. Inside, its filled with lots of books and memorobilia about Abraham Lincoln. There's lots of stuff at this store pretaining to the Civil War -- tons of books, paintings, and more. Its definitely a really unique place and has lots of interesting items that are a lot of fun to browse through.

This Borders has any type of book that you need and a great cafe but the real reason that I love it is because it is building up the area around it. Currently this location isn't known to be all that safe at night, but because of Borders corporate feel and popular demand it is making this area of Chicago grow into a more developed and safer location.

This store offers a variety of things to do. Not only can you go in and enjoy a book but you can go to the cafe and have coffee, sit and chat. This location is very clean, and newly built. I love to go there and spend the day!

This is a very laid-back bookstore. It is kind of like a bookstore, a caf and a library all in one. There is a little area on the second floor where you can buy drinks and snacks. I like it there because its not like most bookstores where you cant look in a magazine or book for too long. At Borders there is seating all over the store for you to read the books and magazines. The very top floor is a music store where you can also seat and lounge.

A big old barn of books! All new and all 5 bucks! A wide range of fiction, non-fiction, reference, and a fantastic selection of children's books. The staff is laid-back but helpful. It feels like the stacks section of a college library. High shelves, teeming and tumbling with brand-new adoptable books! You feel as if someone is gonna come along and bust you for sneaking into the publisher's warehouse. I could have spent hours there and did get a bit overwhelmed by the vastness but then the owner came along and offered me some direction and suggestions. This is a paradise for people who cannot stop buying books. They are cheap. They are many. They are there for the taking. Okay...after you paid 5 bucks or so....
Pros: Great selection.

The first thing anyone who moves into the area should do is buy shares in the Seminary Co-op, which gets you a 10% discount on everything. In the maze of passages can be found pretty much any scholarly book of interest, as well as course books for the U of C. The staff are friendly and helpful, and can order anything for you as well. The bookstore publishes a catalog with great commentary on new and forthcoming books, as well. It may be both hot and crowded much of the time, but this is one of the greatest bookstores anyone will ever go into, for academic books.

If your computer need repairs or upgrades (hardware or software), this is a great computer store to bring it to. It is very much like Best Buy, but I think the service here is better. I have never bought anything from here, but the two times I have brought in my computer for repairs, I have always gotten great service. They always know what to do and have the problem solved as soon as possible. Their rates were pretty reasonable too and my computer worked like new once I got it back.

I have been to this Border's location several times looking for medical books. I like this Border's because their medical section is quite good and well packed with books. I also like the fact that they will order anything for you if they don't have it on their shelves.
The pricing here is pretty much the same as any big retailer BUT if you sign up for their rewards club, you will be able to get coupons where you can save 30% on certian days. 30% is a lot of savings, especially when you buy expensive books like me.
