This is my favorite Borders, because it is always so quite. The ones that are closer to downtown have a tendency to have a lot of tourists swimming around in them looking for books on Chicago and it is hard to sit down and relax. This place has a great staff.

The people who work in the cafe here are always really cool with me. Once they get to know you then the drinks are on the house. You can sit in the cafe area and relax as you get that long awaited reading in. This isn't the place to eat at though. If you are going to be here for a while and start looking at those sandwiches then think twice and take a walk outside in any direction and you can get some real food.

I have only had good experiences here. The staff have always been quick to help and the never ending supply of books will never leave you wanting. There is a spot upstairs that is sort of hidden off to the side for those of us looking to get away from all distractions. So go and get your coffee and head up for a nice place to sit and read your book.

One of the things that cracks me up about going to a Borders is that are people that will actually sit and read a book without buying it. What do they do come back everyday or every other day and pick it up where they left off. Please buy the book it's not like you are buying a car or home! Maybe when you are finished you can pass that unwanted book along to somebody else then they won't have yo take up space in a store and not buy anything. Some of the staff at Borders are cool alot are indifferent or act like they would rather be somewhere else (at least act like you care). Well today they offered me my Borders Rewards card so I can safe cash on cds and books I buy there. This card should have been offered to me a while ago.

I had very bad experience with their staff in the children book department. One night I was there with my wife trying to find a good book to give for our daughter. We were sitting in the children area tried to decide which one is good and which one we wanted to buy. To my surprise, and old lady who work on the 2nd floor asked us to leave because we are not children ? Come on ! We are parents who are buying children book. Beside there were no children at all at that time because it was like 10 pm. I had to complained to their store manager, and since that time I swear, I will never go spend a penny in this location anymore ever.

This place is usually crowded with studious students, shoppers taking a break and moms with their baby strollers. I’ve witnessed many interviews (for jobs unrelated to the bookstore) take place in this shop. I find the staff here to be ultra helpful and considerate. They do have a pretty quiet section on the second floor that is available for reading or studying. You can usually sit there for a while without being disturbed.

This is a good place to go if you need to catch up on some work. Their cafe area is clean and the people who work there are nice. The second floor has a lowered level on the side of it with a desk set up that is rarely used, and is great for a quite place. You could hear a pin drop in there. If you have a child with you then they can float through the children's section witch has colorful carpet and lots of things for them to break. Have fun and be safe.

This is a great Borders location. It is actually one of my favorites in the city because it is not so crowded and there's plenty of free space for people to spread out, relax, and browse. My favorite thing to do here is grab a book, get a drink from their coffee shop, and read away. This place has a great atmosphere so it really makes reading for any reason a lot of fun. The people working here are also really great and they have given me numerous good suggestions on reading materials.
