Chicago Comics is kind of like a beginner's comic book store; it's well-spaced, clean, brightly lit, and they have books and toys, too. If you have questions, there are people that work there, even though I have never noticed them until I paid for something. But I don't usually seek out help at places like this. I mean who would need help unless you are looking for something specifically, but I'm not everybody. The comic selection isn't vast, but well-represented. The store probably benefits from the location on Clark Street, but it is definitely not hard-core, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, when it comes to the rather closed society of comic book geeks.

only...comic-y-er. In a sort of obnoxious way, like with lots more action figures and kitchy marvel memorobelia. But maybe big comic enthusiasts like that? Still, huge zine and art section, which I like. Generally, way more comics than any bookstore (Quimbys encluded) but the selection is still invitingly interesting. That's what I like in a bookstore...and the best thing, the absence of any copies of the Da Vinci Code...

Great place to look around and reminisce about childhood comics! They’ve got a huge selection of back issues and new titles! They also have figurines and memorabilia. The owner is extremely nice and helpful. He once told us about an awesome comic book show that wasn’t well publicized and we had a great time thanks to him!
