Tasteful atmosphere and fabulous selection. The food is tasty and plentiful. The wine is a bit pricey, but the selection is ample. Parking is easy and in a very good neighborhood, much better and safer than I've experienced on the Northside.
Pros: Menu is diverse and provides many interesting choices
Cons: Drinks are a bit pricey

This place is a sports bar and grill. A place to catch the game and eat some great food. A great place for a delicious bite to eat. The head chef is great and is always on the floor making sure the customers are satisfied. I have had guacamole at many different mexican restaraunts but none can compare to the guacamole at this place. The guacamole is soft, fresh, and has a kick to it. Also the chili is the best I have tasted as well. It is perfectly seasoned and has a spicy kick to it as well. You will eat it up to the last drop and want some more. This place has specials different nights of the week. Wing night where the wings are only 25cents and miniburger night also taco night. I highly recommend this place as the food is great and will leave you wanting more.
Pros: The atmosphere is great when you want to catch a game. The food is delicious!
Cons: Waitresses sometimes leave the table and do not return until the bill, the chef is the one who comes out and busses tables sometimes, we see him sometimes more than the waitress.

Finally a comfortable bar in Little Italy. There isnt a wide selection of bars in the West Loop/UIC/Little Italy neighborhoods that can cater to the college kids/young professionals/doc's/etc. all at once. I had a great meal...the tater tots rock...and a decent beer on draft (I think this is the only bar on Taylor that cleans their taps regularly). My new favorite bar.
Pros: The bartender/food/drink
Cons: none

This is a fabulous coffee shop in an area that really needed one, between the Federal buildings on Jackson and the library. We visit the nearby Standard Club every October for a fundraiser. That block was always very desolate looking with a boarded up restaurant. Now the boards are off and a bright new coffee shop with a cool retro neon sign illuminates Plymouth Court. Food is great, service incredible and prices very reasonable. We went there three times over a weekend stay.

Yes, it has good music and good people. What they don't advertise is their food. Some of the best french fries I've had. Friendly waitstaff. Went during a MSU game. Ordered food and was amazed at the quality of food. The DJ playing did a really good job of mixing it up.
Pros: Great all around service and food
Cons: Wish it was bigger

This is a great place for dinner with the girls or somewhere to take a date and be able to have a great conversation. I heard their chef is from Top Chef so that explains the creative dishes. They also have very good drinks and all their cocktails are $1 on Sundays! Can't beat that
Pros: Ambiance

We tried this place because our poor college student wallets were too sad to afford it's sister restaurant, MOTO (with Iron Chef America champion Chef Cantu and pastry chef protege Chef Roche). To our delight, this choice did not fall short of our excitement and expectation! The atmosphere at OTOM was fun and trendy. The food was amazing! Try the salmon cerviche and the short rib ravioli! The drinks here are great too! They were like nothing I've tasted before! There is so much careful detail paid in putting together each of the dishes here. It truly makes the difference! The presentation of everything was beautiful and the sauces and garnishes were innovative and delicious! With hints of the molecular gastronomy techniques used at MOTO, OTOM's own dishes were definitely interesting and truly one-of-a-kind!
Unfortunately, the bill came out a bit higher than we had originally intended, but the experience, food, and excellent service made the trip well-worth our money! This is one of my new favorite restaurants in the city!
Pros: Great service, food, ambience. Plenty of street parking and vallet if you prefer
Cons: Light portion sizes

Wow - I cannot reccomend this restaurant any higher. You must go! The menu is small but ecclectic and really presents a new way to dine and share plates with friends. Although a little pricey the cocktails are unlike any others in Chicago. The thing that puts this place leaps and bounds above places like Violet Hour are the fact that the menu is truly representitive of fine dining and they have these amazing bar carts that make the cocktail of your choice right at your table. They are open late, too, which is a great plus if you live in the Gold Coast and are tired of the same old places for late night munchies. I love this place!
Pros: Great food, cocktails and service
Cons: Not open on every day of the week
