Their cole slaw with peanuts was AMAZING. not pulpy, not vinigarey, tasted like a touch of Thai. The fish sandwich was unbelievable. Automatic favorite restaurant if they can make a 16 year old like fish

BAR is a great place to go for something different. From the clientel, which ranges from the young twenties to the young-at-heart fifty-somethings and yes some suburbanites and tourists, and the complete variety of music, everyone is satisfied. Of course you are not going to like it if you are going out for a $15 specialty martini and want to lounge around, see and be seen,,,that's not what bar is all about. Its about leaving the attitude at the door and having a great time. The staff is great looking and is one of the friendliest I have encountered in Chicago. They are there to make sure you have a great time and I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend BAR Chicago to anyone who just wants to have a good time without the frills... and by the way, the bathroom attendants are great! They are not trying to be trendy, they are there to make sure you are taken care of.
Pros: Great looking staff, reasonable drink prices, people always dancing

Not your traditional bar food where it is all fried. Fish tacos were great along with the grilled chicken. I go every couple weeks for lunch or dinner and some cocktails. Always a good crowd of people. Staff is friendly.

I have been visiting Bar Louie restaurants for years and the Wrigleyville location is by far my favorite. The bartender was conversational without being intrusive, funny, and charismatic. The food is also delicious, specifically their Luigi and Vesuvio melts. Pure heaven! They have a trivia night on Wednesdays that is a blast to go to with a group of friends as well as solid drink specials. I am partial to their specialty martinis such as the Straberry Fizzler. Overall, I have never had a problem here, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a fun bar that is not overdone nor full of obnoxious college students.

This is a fun place to gather with your friends. They have great drinks and finger food. Try the martinis, and you will not go wrong. The atmosphere is so lively, that you will find that you have spent more time than you originally envisioned. It is a great place after work or on the weekends. But on the weekends, you have to camp out early.

To make the extremely long story short, a few coworkers and I went to Bar Louie for a few drinks after work. We were having a good time, our waitress was wonderful, our food was good, until the bartendar decided to be an a-hole. They have a juke box and one of my coworkers played a spanish song that happened to be available. The bartendar named "Ben" went up to our table, asked who had picked the song that was playing at the moment, and once we pointed at our coworker, he proceeded in throwing a dollar towards her and switched the song and walked away without any further explanation. Instead of making a scene and seeing how we couldn't not get a hold of the REAL manager, we decided to leave and he then decided to come back and apologize right after saying that Bar Louie is a "concept" establishment. Thank you for letting us know that ONE spanish song does not fit the "concept" but our wallets do.

I think that Bar Louie has some of the best french fries in the city and they make a mean apple martini. It's a nice place to have a drink and relax after a long day/week/whatever. The servers are also generally nice.
