Jia's is a great place to hit up in the city if you are looking for good Chinese food.
This place looks a bit if-y from the outside, but don't hesitate because on the inside it has a really nice atmosphere and is very well kep.
The menu is big and has many good options. They have your typical Chinese dishes and even sushi. The food is all good and prepared fresh.
The food is good and the service is really friendly too. For all that, it is not all that expensive either.

The sushi places in Chicago just don't end. But this place in Wicker Park is defintely one that sticks out for me at least. The sushi here is amazing and always really fresh. I never go by their actual standrad menu, but always ask for the house specialties. Those are the ones to have because they are given extra love and attention and their fantastic taste definitely shows that! Its not the most inexpensive sushi in the area, but it is good. Also, this restaurant is BYOB so that saves a bit on the bill too.

This place has great food. It's just a little storefront with a few booths but it's terrific. They sell the food in combinations or a la carte. Their prices are good and their food excellent. You can watch it get cooked or sit in a booth and wait ‘till its ready. Eat in, carry out or get it delivered. Great family run place right next to the laundromat.
Go there. You won't be disappointed.

I have been coming to this cute little restaurant with my Mom since I was 9. The place hasn't changed much at all inside or out. I love the service and of course the food. My fav is yaka soba (spelled wrong). It is buckwheat noodles flavored with sprouts and a tangy bar-be-que like sauce.
If you want to get a (real) drink all of the "rush street" bars are down the street.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: No parking, small area

My family and I have been eating at this place for 20+ years,on a first name basis. The best Thai food anywhere, and we've been to all of them,we love Thai food(spicy)we try all different ones to get a new one close to home,we live in NW suburbs, and the drive is long, but worth it.Yen Ta Fo soup is very good, can't find it anywhere else.parking is a challenge, but we always find a spot close by.they opted to not renew the liquor license,so bring your own.I like that better anyway.not fancy at all ,but cozy, enjoy the food and service!

If this isn't the best Chinese I've had in Chicago, it's easily the best I've had in a while. I ordered the hot and sour soup and the orange chicken and both were excellent. The hot and sour soup was very flavorful and the orange chicken was rich and crisp with just the right amount of spice. The presentation was beautiful, complete with a flower carved out of a vegetable. Based on reviews here, I expected parking to be a problem but I went on a Friday night and found plenty of street parking just South of the restaurant on Broadway. I was seated immediately and the service was similarly fast. I think the price put things just past inexpensive but it wasn't too expensive and the quality made it worth it.
Pros: Excellent food
Cons: Street parking (but not awful)

More
Despite its location in a strip mall, this place has the best, and Thai-est Thai food of any place I've been in the city. My Thai students and friends swear by it.
The su-ki-ya-ki (NOT the Japanese food, but a spicy noodle soup) can't be beat. The som tum (papaya salad) is great. If you've had versions elsewhere, be prepared for the real thing: it's tarter and much spicier than you'll find at Americanized places in Lakeview or Lincoln Park.
The pad thai, however, the one time I had it was not up to snuff.
If you're not used to spicy food, you might want to choose carefully. Here, at Thai Super Chef, even one chili symbol on the menu means it's genuinely peppery.
Pros: Spicy food, Good service, Great value
