Midway is a good alternative to flying out of Ohare airport. There are quite a few airlines that offer really low fairs out of midway including some great nonstops. The atmosphere is a lot more relaxed and that is always great when you are already stressed out from travelling someplace anyways.

I used to really hate driving all the way out to Midway to catch a flight. But I went there recently to pick a friend who was flying into Chicago up and I was so surprised. This airport has really been renovated over the years and made into a really nice place. It is a very relaxed airport, with not much rush or traffic. The flights going out of this airport are limited but, boy, can you find some great deals flying in and out of this airport. This is a great alternative to O'hare!

Given the choice between flying out of O'hare of Midway, I would pick Midway!! Midway is a smaller airport which means less hustle and bustle! It's more convienent and you are fighting with less traffic to get there. There are many parkiing lots with reasonable rates. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from and little stores to check out. It has everything that an airport needs to have to make it functional.

Not only is Midway closer to downtown, but the service just seems nicer. The skycaps that have helped me with my bags are SO much nicer than the ons at O'Hare. I really like the renovations and it's easy to find where you're flying out of (I've gotten lost more than once at O'Hare).

A few years ago I refused to go to Midway. It just seemed too far out and very deserted and unkempt. But recently, I had to go pick up a friend from MIdway, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that this place had improved much from the last time I had been there. It has been renovated in many diferent ways, they have a little restaurant there, and there are more flights out of there so it is very lively. Plus, I found out that fares are a lot better from here too.

Midway is so different than it was several years ago, their new facilities make this airport comparable to O'Hare. The place is clean with added restaurant, easier to find gates. I prefer flying from midway than O'Hare for domestic traveling, because it is smaller and also less traffic going in. Also noticed less delay from Midway.

It's only my opinion, but I'd rather fly out of O'Hare any day. The location of Midway is horrible. The parking and pickup areas are OK. Inside, there are some nice shops and places to grab a bite, but there's nothing that ranks above O'Hare. One bright spot, my two-year old fell in love with the Moving Walkways. We had to pry him off of them when it was time to board our flight.
