i came to the shop last august frusterated because i couldnt get in anywhere else (actually i found them in the phone book after bummin all day.) they were curteous and helpful. i brought my mother with me and she even had a wonderful time (was cute watching my mom converse with all these seriously hard lookin dudes! ) jimmy freehand drew my tatt onto my back, all in all i was in the chair about 3 hours and my tattoo turned out beautiful!!! it was a cover of a terrible home tattoo and you would never be able tell by looking at it now!! healing was smooth and nothing went wrong at all!
thanks for rocking guys!! i cant wait to get back to seattle to get more done!!!!!
also had a little bit of a comment about the bad review these guys got.......the one referring to the red star....red ink is the only pigment that has not been hypoallergenized (therefore a great deal of people are allergic to red ink) if it became infected it was probably not because of shoddy tattooing, but more likely because of allergies....sorry man gotta stand up for these guys! cuz they are BADASS!!

I got my nose pierced by Jawn back in February and it was a great experience. The staff there were very friendly and patient with me while I decided what I wanted and helped me figure out what would be the best jewelry. Jawn was very professional and made the process pleasant. I've also been tattooed several times by Will Bodnar, who's a tattoo artist there. He was very easy to work with and made sure what he did was exactly what I wanted - great custom work. I would recommend checking out his portfolio if you are shopping around for a new tattoo artist.

James Alan Salon, in Shoreline, is a neighborhood gem. I was bouncing around from salon to salon but never found the right place to get my hair cut until I started going to James Alan over a year ago. I enjoy a good hair cut, but have very low-maintenance hair and sometimes that throws stylists off. They want to put 'product' in my hair or blow it out in some wacked-out fashion. Not only does the staff at James Alan give superb hair cuts, they actually listen. I've never left feeling as if I got a cut that I didn't like or want. (Ask for Christina!). They also offer spa services--I've had a pedicure. The staff seem genuinely happy and I think that comes from how they are treated as employees. I know the owners are highly involved in the community and it seems that employees are encouraged to do the same. It feels good to support a business that tries to create a healthy work environment for their employees.

I have a number of tattoos and I have differing levels of satisfaction with all of them. But out of all of them I am absolutely happiest (130%) with the one I got at Fenix Tattoo by Heather.
She took a relatively complex design and performed flawlessly executing it with absolute brilliance and accuracy. She also has a touch up policy and invites you in for a free touch up any time you like.
The staff is great the vibe is great and it is right in the heart of Pioneer Square. My favorite place to get inked.

My eldest daughter is an artist...she has been designing a tattoo sleeve for me but I needed to find someone to actually do the work for me. I was apprehensive when I went to Top Tattoo. It would seem every time I find a tattoo artist I really like, they leave. I have several tattoos but once again, was without someone I could trust. I went to Top and the first guy I spoke with thought he could do the final drawing for the artwork but then it just wasn't going well for him so, to his credit, instead of just going ahead and botching the job, he passed to someone he thought could do the job well. This is how I met Greg Colligan. He was fast, professional and did a wonderful job. I can't say enough good things about my overall experience at Top Tattoo.
Later I stopped in to buy an O ring for one of my ear plugs. I keep losing the stupid things >.< Anyways, I was up for a pleasant surprise to find that one of my piercer friends is now working at Top! Brett makes piercing a spiritual experience that is good for the soul! He doesn't believe in needle rape but instead waits patiently for your body to open up and accept the piercing. Brett rocks!
