Team Reba has been helping our family with Real Estate for a long time, so when my husband and I decided to purchase our first home, they were our natural choice. Being young and a little naive we just assumed all agents were as professional as Team Reba, but our experience enlightened us as to just how awesome Rebecca and her team really are.
Having very limited funds, and a laundry list of needs, (close to family, cheap, not falling down, yard for dogs) we worked with the Team for almost a year before we found just the right home for us. Throughout everything Team Reba was supportive and we never felt pushed to buy something that didn't suit us. When we finally found what we were looking for, Reba jumped in both feet first and we made an offer. Little did we know at the time that we would all be doing a lot more jumping (through hoops) throughout the next 5 weeks.
It seemed the sellers, and their agent, were interested only in making the sale very hard for us. We had to sign away a lot of standard back outs, giving them the power. We did, but we also changed our bid to include closing costs, and a few other items. They accepted and we all prepared for the closing day. As the closing day drew nearer, the sellers realized that they had agreed to pay our closing costs, apparently they had missed this crucial part of the contract.
So they decided that they just weren't going to sign the closing documents. At this point it was very clear to all involved that the oversight of the closing costs was the fault of the selling agent, in fact, he admitted it. But he refused to take responsibility and fork up the money out of his already inflated commission. We tried to come to an agreement, offered money on our side from both us and Team Reba.
Finally after the closing date passed and we had to start speaking with a lawyer did the Broker for the selling agent step in and take over for the incompetent agent. I guess they realized finally that they were going to be facing a lawsuit if they didn't resolve it with us. During this very emotional and frustrating experience Team Reba was there at all times, they sheltered us from the onslaught of stupidity and incompetence from the selling agent, and in the end gave up a portion of their hard earned commission to help us finalize the sale. They proved to be the best agents in the West, complete with smoking rifles.
I would with glee and enthusiasm recommend Team Reba to anyone looking for an agent who is extremely professional, fun, and knows how and when to defend you from idiots.

the instructors make a priority to know you by name, not because they should, but because they know that knowing who you are and what you need to work on makes the practice better for everyone. I've been to a few instructors and each one does something a bit different, but i always feel good when I leave--breathing a bit deeper. Even if its quite a workout, I leave feeling calm. I think Cicely is my favorite, but they are all soooo goood!
Pros: amazing instructors lead to an amazing practice
Cons: cant think of one

I am a pretty accomplished self-taught home cook, with little instruction from parents or grandparents. I have taken quite a few classes here, and overall each time has been educational and enjoyable. Gabriel Claycamp is an enthusiastic food geek, and loves to share his knowledge of which he has lots, both theoretical and empirical. He charismaticly engages on all levels, but never haughty, overbearing, or condescending.
Classes are hands on, and can be overwhelming the timid--ask questions, get your hands dirty, and immerse yourself into the experience and education of these exceptional classes. Take the Knife Skills class or the Seasonings class for some eye-opening classes for the self-taught home chef, or the Charcuterie class for the weekend warrior. The menu composition class is a fantastic class for anyone who likes to entertain, and the confit clinic really shows some assembly line techniques that ease the labor into quick work. The Series class are some serious instruction, and great friends will be made.
Recipe cards are distributed as soon as you walk in, and most likely you will get through them all, depending on the speed/expertise of the class. It is better to have felt like there was too much then to be bored.
Often, the class takes home leftovers--these alone are worth the cost of a fancy lunch and dinner!
Pros: Hands-on beats mirrored countertops any day.
Cons: Students should avoid advanced classes if they don't--can't--cook.

They've moved to 10722 5th Ave NE (Northgate) and the new place is GREAT! The instructors are top-notch and no 2 classes are exactly the same. If you like kickboxing or just need to do something different, give this a try - it's a great value for the money!

And this is a great place to learn.
I've been training for about a year at 7 star, and I couldn't have asked for a better environment to train in--seriously.
I was worried when I first starting training, because I was very overweight (I was at 280 pounds). I was frightened that I wouldn't be able to keep up, and that I would be made to feel out of place. As it turned out, it wasn't like that at all--the instructors work with you exactly where you are, and are patient and committed to helping you move towards your goals. In the year that I've been training I've lost over 40 pounds, and have experienced a complete overhaul in my strength and physical abilities. And it's more than just physical--I've found that training in martial arts has given me an increased confidence and a calmness in stressful and frightening situations.
Plus, the school offers a wide range of class work--not only in Kajunkenbo (which is itself a mix of five styles), but in stick fighting, Shaolin weapons, street fighting, and more. I never get bored training at this school, ever.

Due to the urging of two friends, I recently signed up for a pre-natal yoga class at Eight Limbs with the famous Anne Phyfe. The class itself is excellent- just strenuous enough with great stretching, learning better breathing is key and awareness of the baby is always emphasized. Anne Phyfe is AMAZING-she sends a ripple of calm through all of her students with her voice and soft touch and excellent instruction. The studios are clean and airy and the overall vibe is just plain sweet.

The ASUW Experimental College is a wonderful school offering hundreds of great classes in all kinds of subject areas, including drawing and painting, writing, acting, filmmaking, cooking, business classes and dozens of other subject areas. It has a history in the area that goes back to the late 1960s, and some of the educational experiments that were going on at that time. It really is an experimental program with a different attitude. It's been part of the Seattle community for decades, and provides a sense of connection and community for both old timers and newcomers to the area. If you look at the school today, and go back in time, you'll find some of Seattle's most notable people teaching there. The classes are high quality and most are taught by working professionals in their fields. Definitely check it out. It's an experiment that works.
Peace!

Whether expecting or recovering, I highly recommend the Seattle Holistic Center.
Prenatal: If you are pregnant and located near Wallingford or Greenlake, check out Collette's Prenatal Yoga class. I give them credit for preparing both my mind and body for delivery.
I had days when I thought I had it bad. Then class starts, everybody introduces themselves and shares their ailments (so that it can be addressed in class). Suddenly my aching hip sounds minute compared to Jane who just got back from a month of bed rest! Puts everything in perspective.
I always walked out feeling relieved that I was not the only hormonal person in town!
Postnatal: If you have a crawler/toddler, you can take them to Yoga class! This is the only place that I know that has a parent/toddler yoga class.
With a kid friendly atmosphere, go strengthen your back, calm your nerves and meet great down to earth people. This is a drop-in class. At $16 a class, it is money well spent for my sanity.
