2020 Cycles on Union in the Central District = BIG RIP OFF! I brought my bike in for new tires and new brakes. A friend picked up my bike, and when I got it home, I found new tires, yes, but the brakes were as old and worn as ever!
Attention to detail: minimal!

Price: much too high
If you go, you'll find the workers chatting amiably with their bike messenger buddies, but if you appear to be otherwise gainfully employed, expect to get ripped off.

I know it's a big chain, but, I've been a member at the Downtown 24 Fitness for years. They have incredibly diverse classes (which I admit that I don't take) and all the equipment you could possible want from cardio to free weights and weight machines. They also have a really good salt water pool that is virtually empty at off-peak hours, and nice stand-up tanning beds if you're into that. It is less meat-markety than most places, and generally meets my needs quite well. The only drawback is that parking can be a pain in the yoo-hoo, but if you go early morning or after work, they have an arrangement with the garage next door for free parking. I think it's about the cheapest gym around, which doesn't hurt anything, since i want to spend my money going out and doing things, not just getting in shape.

I've been around to quite a few shops in the Seattle area and none of them have the level of skill or service that Arron's has. That said, STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP IF: you want the absolute lowest prices and don't care about service; you want to try parts and return them if you don't like them or they don't fit; you are easily offended or upset if someone disagrees with you. THIS SHOP IS FOR YOU IF: You want the job done right (they aren't perfect, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone equal, let alone better); are willing to pay more for the right part; aren't going to be offended if someone tells you something you don't want to hear. One of the things that separates Aaron's from other bike shops is the immediate (when possible) service. They'd rather fix your bike while you wait rather than keep it for a week. With the newer shop they do have more space to store bikes, however, and are probably going to be better about accepting drop-offs. Often, they will insist that you bring your bike in before selling you something. So even if you just want to buy a set of fenders, it's best to bring the bike in. I can't count how many times I've been spared buying something that wouldn't have worked because they had me bring in the bike. To me, that's worth paying extra. If you bring your bike in, they won't touch it unless you are prepared to do what is necessary to get it into a state that they deem safe. That means, that if your handlebars are ready to fall off, they won't just fix a flat tire. They prefer fixing something before replacing it, if it can be done safely. Many customers happily leave with a their old refurbished bike, rather than a new one. Aaron is opinionated. Occasionally (or often) you won't agree with him. If you're the kind of person who can agree to disagree, you'll be fine. He may, at times, seem grumpy. Chances are it's nothing personal and if it is, I doubt you'll need to guess. He takes pride in his work and only hires people that do the same. 'Nuff said.

I grew up in west seattle and it was the place to hangout as there was lots of violence deeper into west seattle. the scenery is really nice as you get to see all of downtown. when the sun sets and things quiet down, you see seattle buildings light up. great places to eat also, and there are tons of women.

This is the hubcap in the wheel of Seattle tennis. The great thing about the Amy Yee Tennis Center is the junior walk-ins: if you are under 18, you can get to play on the indoor courts for free as long as one is open. They have a lot of lessons, ranging from pure beginner to fairly advanced, and they host many tournaments throughout the year. They are very focused on serving the community, and the staff are very very friendly and try hard to get tennis across to the entire state.

The place does look rather dive-y, the front desk staff is a bit sketchy, and the clientele is mostly geriatric, but this is actually a very good place to take kids for swim classes. You don't have to be a member to take classes there. They will let you start anytime and prorate the class fee (usually $64 for 8 classes, if I recall correctly). The instructors range from pretty good to great, the pool is big and has a lot of shallow-water space, and the water is usually fairly warm. The dressing rooms/showers are fine, with lots of lockers, benches, etc. We've gone off and on for several years and overall, it's been a fine experience.

We recently started soccer with our little one, which sounds crazy since he's only 18 months, but Arena Sports has a class for 18-24 month-old toddlers. The great thing for me is the class is on a Saturday so it's something a working parent can participate in (it seems as if all parent-child classes are during the work week).
You can pay for the full session or pay as you go, and the cost is the same. Also, the first class you can do for free as a trial, which we did. I was a bit concerned since my son is still a "new" walker, doing the penguin thing. But, he fit in just fine.
The class was 40 minutes long (perfect amount of time for this age group), and the "drills" were fun and tailored to the age group...and the coach was at ease which is good since they were definitely wandering toddlers beating to their own drum.
I think my son enjoyed the end the best, when the Coach blew bubbles for them to catch.
Parental advice: Have some coffee before you go because being around so many energetic toddlers at 9am will make you TIRED!

We took the locks cruise during sunset. Seeing the city as well as the mountains at twilight made it worth every penny (it is fairly expensive). This was a birthday gift so I guess its easy for me to say but I wouldn't regret paying for it. The trip was so romantic and beautiful.
The tour guides were pretty informative and the crew was friendly. I think its great for both tourists and locals. You learn a little bit of trivia and if you are new to the area a lot about the different neighborhoods of Seattle. It gives you a good sense of the city. But besides all that, its just fun to go out on a boat trip once in a while and see the salmon jump! :)

This is one of the most amazing art galleries I have ever been to. It has some awesome and unique art pieces as well as glass artifacts. You can walk through feeling amazed that something like it is possible. The studio that they make that art in is actually located in the back where the artists sit and work hard all day long creating masterpieces.
