OK, so it isn't like a $300 detail nor is it the quickie $7 with your gas and who cares if it scratches wash. It is instead as many folks have noted a Seattle institution. For $20, you get 20 minutes of joy as your kids watch it and you get to remember all those movies feature car washes when you were a kid.
They use soft brushes so they hopefully won't destroy your finish and for $20, it is a decent job. So, not the very best, but a good value for the money. BTW, the downtown location is the oldest and funnest just because the elephant is so big.

I purchased a car from European Motors in Shorline that had a horrible repaint (missed bought late in day construction dirt on Aurora hid the problem) My error.
Anyway..I was referred to Auto Spa and they wet sanded the paint and detailed the car.
Funny when they asked me how could Phil Smart have sold a car with paint like this...I said I bought it from European Motors and they all laughed...anyway after a weekend of detailing they were able to bring the car back to a respectable look. They work miracles here.
Highly recommended. Plus they are nice people.

Granted, I would prefer to not actually wash my own car and i am a sucker for the pick neon elephant. But with a Seattle-size mortgage, somethings gotta give. I take my car to one of the local Brown Bear Car Wash places. It's cheap and everything you needs is there. The most impressive aspect is how everything is stationed and organized efficiently. Easy in, easy out. There's $15 bucks saved. Now I can afford those stone lions.
