When I first heard about SkyHawks soccer camp I thought it seemed kind of crazy to send a seven year old to a camp where they do nothing but play soccer six hours a day, five days a week. I fully expected that by the second day my daughter would complain that she was tired of soccer and didn't want to go anymore. In fact, it was quite the opposite, and she came away the last day saying she couldn't wait to go again next year. The coaches are young and energetic and they make sure the kids have a lot of fun in addition to learning strong soccer skills.

This program through the Office of Minority Affairs at the University of Washington offers after school programs for ethnic and financial minorities and scholarship opportunities. They also have summer camps that stretch from a week to a month and allow the students to get excited about math and science.
