The service at this store is fantastic. I've gotten floor deals on new furniture. I've picked up replacement couch legs for free. And the wonderful Dave made a quick house call (free of course) to fix the buttons on my couch. They really take care of their customers.

Very nice selection of antiques and kitsch that can be afforded by people on a variety of budgets. They have furniture and a large selection of clothing and artwork, old records and that thing that used to sit on your mother's coffee table when you were younger.
I find it just as fun to walk through here and see how many of these things I either owned myself, or how many were owned by older relatives and friends of the family.
This is a very nice store on 2 or 3 levels (can't remember) and has a very wide and ecclectic range of items that will suit any budget and decorating style.

This is a really nice little comic store. It’s actually more like a regular store of some other type than a comic shop—by that I mean less “specialized” products, things that would appeal to a mass audience rather than just comics readers. They carry comics, trades, toys, figures, sculptures, games, pictures (of movie stars and more), and other comics related merchandise. They have a knowledgeable and friendly staff, and it’s a truly fun place to go in.

Located in Ballard, just northeast of the Ballard Bridge at 1440 NW 52nd St. is the RE Store. They have your standard building salvage pieces along with some unusual and downright odd items. For unusual, last time I was there they had an ancient bidet or sits bathtub. The oddest thing they had then was clothing, from the 1950s or 60s that had been salvaged from a former dry cleaners. The items were apparently found behind a locked door that wasn't highly visible and had been forgotten about. The RE Store personnel discovered the door and found the old clothes. They weren't building supplies, but were too cool to scrap, so they salvaged them!
Price wise the RE Store is all over the board, from very pricey to downright reasonable, depending on what you want. I haven't tried dickering or doing a trade in, but hey, some of the stuff they get is donated, so I suppose you could try. One word of caution, make sure you know what you want before you go in, it's one of those"kid in the candy store" places for builders and remodelers.

For me, one of the worst things about going antique shopping is coming across the PERFECT item, only to find that it's priced way out of your range.
Not so with the Fremont Antique Mall. Sure, they've got some stuff that would cost me an entire year's salary...but they've also got plenty of things there that are cute and functional for anyone on even the most limited budget.
Go there, plan to get dusty, and see what they have. If you see something you like, snatch it up because it will most likely be gone the next time you stop by!

Try the tofu with soft egg rice. Amazing! The servers always laugh at me when I order this side dish as my main entree but my Chinese friend claim it is because the egg rice is the Chinese equivalent of Chicken noodle soup- something mom makes you when you're under the weather. The restaurant is also open late.

There's something about most antique malls that I've been to--something grime-y about them. This place, however, is not like that. Sure, there are times when it's a bit overwhelming--there's just too much old stuff (some of it junk, to me). But some of the vendors have wonderful stuff, beautifully displayed. It's a great place to browse around. It's huge--so if you want to see everything, it will take awhile. The good thing is that most vendors specialize in something--so if you're not interested in that particular something, you can just move on. Most of the prices are reasonable. I think you can even bargain, if you're interested. The mall will contact the vendor and ask them for you. For the most part, I think the staff at the mall is helpful, and wants to help.

Vivant is what some of the chain and mall stores wish they could be if they had any individuality and style. Forget pottery barn and all those chain candle stores in the mall. If you are looking for a really nice gift, or for something nice and unique for your own home, check out Vivant
