This should have been a wonderful experience - we are foodies who want to support local produce. Instead, the appetizers were repetitive and mostly deep fried. Fried pickles, fried corn cake, fried squash. Not too exciting. This is the height of summer! I then ordered a salad - it was better, but too heavy on the fried prosciutto. I had to use a knife to cut through the large chunks of cucumber and sheets of untorn lettuce.
My main entree was the swordfish and I don't recommend that either. The fish was dry and unseasoned. My dining partner thought the venison was pretty good but had an undertone of tomato paste. I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars instead of 1 because of the fabulous desserts - a mousse and a peach cobbler, and also the excellent and professional waitstaff.
Pros: local produce, fine service, pleasant ambience, delicious desserts
Cons: flavorless entrees and appetisers, way too much frying, menu lacks interest and variety

My family and I went there on Sunday for Mother's Day. The decor was very warm and inviting, but elegant. There were many beautiful pieces of art work on the wall. Our waiter was friendly, and the service was exceptional. The food was delicious. The appetizer was a plate of tapas. Each one was different and more succulent than the next. We had a choice of mixed greens with a toasted square of goat cheese or a wild mushroom soup. I had the salad, and it was wonderful. The goat cheese was incredible, but I was only able to eat about half because I didn't want to be too full for my meal. Then, I had the grilled lamb chops with a potato cake underneath. The food was well-seasoned and very enjoyable. The desserts were a choice of miniature pastries or an assortment of creme brulees. Our table had both. The pastries were out of this world. The vanilla creme brulee was my favorite, but some of them were too sweet.
Pros: Lovely and Warm Decor; Great Service; Delicious Food
Cons: Not Many People Know It's There
