I recently purchased a new Yamaha motorcycle from Team Charlotte. The choice was a no-brainer; they advertised it for $5500 (the kbb value was over $6500). I was stumped when the sales associate brought me a slip of paper with a final cost nearing 8 grand. When inquiring as to the nature of these charges, I was told they were non-negotiable... I said, They better be! (the most memorable one was a $500 shipping fee, non-negotiable of course, for a bike which was sitting on the showroom floor). Eventually, I talked them down on the price, saying quite honestly I was going to a dealer in Hendersonville if they wouldn't budge. A month went by, and my temporary tag expired. They never sent my real tag. So I called and spoke with an associate who said they'd send it. I called a few days later to double check, and they said they wouldn't. I spoke to a manager who then said they would the next day. Several days later, I called back and was told I had to pick it up in person to sign for it. It cost me a week and a half of potential riding time and $20 in gas. Bigger isn't better. By the time they finish padding your costs and treating you like grade D beef, you'd be better off going to the little guy who does what they say.
