We had a blast splashing around in that "big box full of hot bubbly water", drinking wine, and checking out a grand view of the lake and tree covered hillside. Many activities on site ... canoe, paddle boat, quiet road for a walk, large well kept grounds for relaxing/reading/eating. Really it was more like a mini-resort. The Juliet suite was spacious. The bed was excellent, and the room had two sets of french doors that open to a porch with an awesome lake view. The rooms and house had many interesting antique furnitures and decorations. Also, very convenient location ... 15 min to downtown Charlotte, very close to airport and US National Whitewater park. We were as happy indoors as out, and definitely recommend. Pros: Great views, hospitality, and a canoe Cons: Google directions wrong ... use their directions

My daughter was married at the Victorian Villa and my husband and I could not have been more pleased with both the loveliness of the place and the helpful staff, particularly Liz and Todd, the owners. The food was really good and beautifully presented ,everything needed was provided for in a timely and friendly way. A memorial event that we will never forget, and I must say at a reasonable price also. Thanks again Liz and Todd, we appreciate your atttention and kindness. Well what can I say, but thank you! My daughter had the most awesome wedding at the Villa. I wish I would have written a review sooner because I sure am appreciative. As daddy's of the bride tend to do...pay for the big event...I did and sure was shocked at the great price we got for such an elegant wedding and reception. The wedding was held in a stately gazebo on the lake front, just as my Melanie had wanted. My wife was impressed with the food and the wait staff. The gracious owners, Todd and Liz made it all happen for my little girl and that makes me an appreciative dad! Thanks again. Pros: Everything! Cons: Nothing!!

Just wanted to take a quick moment to say what a delightful experience we had getting married at the Victorian Villa. A friend had her wedding there and told us that Todd would take good care of us and he sure did. We had a romantic ceremony on the lake and a blast at our reception. Everything from flowers to food to music was incredible. We LOVED our boat ride get away at the end of the evening. Waking up the next morning to the beauty of Lake Wylie was relaxing. What a great way to start our marriage. I totally recommend the Villa for anyone looking for the PERFECT place to wed. Ask for Todd! Pros: delightful atmosphere for a splendid price! Cons: can't think of any!!

Thank you so much to Todd and Liz for making my wedding so special. I must say that I felt so taken care of before, during, and after my wedding. As a bride, I knew what I wanted and how it must be done. Todd made sure that all of my wedding details were carried out as planned. I was very appreciative of the Villa staff for being so curtious to my guests. I rented the whole house for my guests and we loved the rooms! The day of my wedding my friends and I enjoyed relaxing around and about the house. Breakfast was delicious. I loved how well the Villa grounds were taken care of. I didn't need that many flowers because they already have so many. I even got to use their peace plants around the gazebo. All of the flower beds were full of color...that made everything so complete. Liz made sure I had what I needed as I got ready for the ceremony. Many thanks to her and to Todd. I know they must put so much in what they do at the Villa. I was so glad to find a beautiful place that did not cost me a fortune. I got to have an elegant wedding with a staff that treated me and my wedding party like royalty. The whole staff seemed to always be smiling. I could not have asked for a better host and hostess. Todd and Liz made sure the evening was carried out just as we had discussed. Since I plan to only do this once, I sure do thank Todd, Liz, and the curtious staff at the Victorian Villa. I was a part of a wedding party at the Victorian Villa...first of all, I was AMAZED at the beautiful rooms that we were lodged in, I felt like royalty! The room I was in had a little porch off the bedroom and in the mornings I could have my coffee overlooking the lake and in the evenings I could watch my children play in the pool below me. The owners, Todd and Liz were sooo very hospitable and nice to us! They tried to make sure that we had everything not only to make our visit comfortable, but special! They both worked very hard the day of the wedding making sure the grounds were perfect and everything was "set." They had a very kind, hard working staff that was busy making sure that all the food preparations were just right. The evening of the wedding arrived and they paid close attention to make sure that all of the details that the bride wanted were "just right." It was beautiful and very intimate - in a way, you are outside, overlooking this beautiful lake out in the open, but your wedding group is gathered around the bride and groom in an close and personal way, making you really feel like a participant in the vows/wedding...you don't feel "removed..." I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the V. V. and my friend had her DREAM wedding! I know many more couples will enjoy the perfect wedding experience at this bed and breakfast! My wife and I attended my niece's wedding in early August and stayed for 3 nights at the Victorian Villa Bed and Breakfast. The home sits on Lake Wylie and there is a nice view of the water. We awoke and have breakfast promptly at 9AM each morning. The breakfast was delicious, gourmet quality, and the view during our meal was breathtaking. Liz and Todd Hutcheson, owners were there to greet us when we arrived and spent just enough time with giving us information and directions, then they would go about their daily chores. When you have to keep up a house of that magnitude, it takes a lot of work. Todd does construction work as well and you can see his handywork everywhere. The Victorian Villa Bed and Breakfast is beautiful and a great place to relax and unwind. We highly recommend it and shall return again and again. Pros: Plenty of parking, beautiful lake view Cons: cannot think of any

Yes, we also had read some bad reviews about the Victorian Villa. We met with Todd three times. I have been to weddings where they ran out of food, or the meat was sliced so thin you could see through it. Todd asured us that would not happen. I must say that Todd and his wife went out of their way to make everything as we planed. Our tables were set up as we asked, and the food was wonderful. We chose the prime rib meal, with the meat carved into large steaks. There was plenty of food for everyone. The cake from Suarez Bakery was perfect as well. The staff at the Villa are helpful and treat you as if you were family. I want to tell anyone who is thinking of having their wedding here that you won't find a more perfect place than The Victorian Villa. Thanks to everyone there for giving me a perfect wedding. I am the very happy mother of a bride that was married at the Victorian Villa Inn in Lake Wylie, North Carolina. The ambiance was superb, not to mention the wonderful staff and the delicious meal they prepared. The entire event went exactly as scheduled due to the superior help and attitude of everyone at the Villa. I would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful place to everyone that desires great food, great service, and an overall wonderful experience.

I have to admit I've been taken aback at some of the other comments. Having been a part of a wedding at the Villa, I have only great things to say about both the accomodations and the staff. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything we needed was taken care of. The food for the evening was incredible and cooked by a sweet lady who knows how to work in the kitchen! The cake was exactly what was ordered from the bakery they use, and was such a nice addition to the wedding. Sunset on the lake makes for some of the most BEAUTIFUL pictures ever! The wedding went off without any problems, and everyone had such a great time! I have and will continue to recommend friends and family to take advantage of this "hidden gem!" Keep up the great work Villa staff!! Pros: Gorgeous setting on the lake and great friendly people to be around! Cons: Parking
