131 Main is one of my favorite restaurants in South Charlotte. I have never had a bad meal there and everything is good from appetizers to dinner and desert. The staff is generally very good and managers are on patrol to make sure your experience is always top notch.
Pros: Great ribs, steaks, salads and beer

Heard all the reviews and happened to be in the area so we stopped in for dinner. Heard about the "Chinese" menu (as opposed to the "American" menu). Didn't ask to see it but tried to see if they had typical Cantonese dishes. Asked for Hong-Kong style chow mein (long egg noodles, fried, and topped with meat with sauce, not American chow mein which use noodles almost like crackers) and it wasn't exactly HK style, but pretty close. Asked for a steamed flounder, but was told it would take 40 minutes - not sure why that would be - most places will do it in half the time. But they did have a whole flounder where they filleted it, cut the meat up into chunks, breaded and fried it, and sauteed with vegetables - really good. Definitely a cut above the typical American-style Chinese place.

This place was a disaster. I was recommended to go here by a friend and was completely disappointed. The worst was the atmosphere. I felt like I walked into dinner hour at a nursing home. There was no noise in the restaurant other than elderly sniffs and coughs and sounds of people eating. Music an idea? We went on a weeknight, only to get stuffed into a part of the room tightly packed with tables because the rest of the restaurant was dark and closed off. The food was average, overpriced. Our waitress was the only good thing, I think she was extremely excited to wait on a table that wasn't as old as her grandparents. NOT RECOMMENDED. There are many more places to go that are far better than Adam's.

Addie's is amazing! Not only do you get some of the best food in Charlotte, but it is completely authentic. Addie is an amazing woman, and she is so open to letting you try a piece of fried plantain just to get you to come back and order it yourself!

When I first moved to Charlotte, I wasted tons of money trying out different restaurants until I discovered Akropolis. Love this place! Good food at great price. The place is packed any day of the week and the food is soo good. Highly recommend it!
