La Bibliotheque is practically hidden in the buildings very near South Park mall. But once you find it, prepare for a delight. Outdoor terrace seating is available during warmer months, we (sadly) ate inside for that reason. However, the experience was marvelous. You are treated with great respect and attention from the staff, and a nearby cart of liqueurs makes ordering a drink quite appealing and fast. We were seated in a tucked-away corner and seriously felt we had the restaurant to ourselves. A few diners were there, but the staff most graciously seated everyone a good distance away to give the feel of private dining. The meal was delicious and truly a culinary delight, although since it’s over a year I cannot recall anything we ordered. I will say that the experience left us with fond memories and a desire to go again. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

The Asian population in Charlotte is growing in rapid pace and when I moved here, I could not find a place where I can get all my Asian groceries shopping done. New Century Groceries is a big supermarket that carries fresh vegetables, live fish, Asian bakery and there is even a meat department in the back of the groceries. The prices are very reasonable and the workers can guide you to the right aisle to find the product you are searching for.

Mama Ricotta's catered a friends wedding back in 2000. The food was awesome. It is Italian food and some of the best I have ever had.
Since then, I have discovered that they do have a restaurant that is just as good!
Being all Italian, it was always difficult for me to consider places like "Olive Garden" Italian. But, Mama Ricotta's comes with high recommendation for both catering and dining out.

The Cheesecake Factory is famous for its cheesecake, but there is oh so much more if you go for dinner. Obviously, the 30 some odd flavors of cheesecake have something for everyone. I used to not like cheesecake until I came here and tried the Godiva Chocolate Raspberry cheesecake. Since then I’ve tried others, all them being wonderful, some out of this world. Their food is an American style, with things like a Hawiaan salad or macadamia encrusted tilapia with a mango salsa… I’ve always loved my meals there.

I love love love this place. Why is it only in Charlotte? They should have a chain with one on every corner. Okay, the deal with Therapy is that they have HUGE delicious martinis of all kinds of flavors. I went with a group of friends and we each ordered a different one so we could taste them all. Every single one of them was incredible and beat out most other martinis I've had. My second favorite was a chocolate one with Godiva in it. Incredible. My absolute favorite one was strawberry cheesecake - it had graham cracker crumbs around the edge of the glass! I will go back there every chance I get. Oh, the live music was also really fun, as was the atmosphere.

Common Market is a groovy little store nestled in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood. They have a deli which offers gourmet soups and sandwiches. The wine and beer selections are fantastic and the prices make you happy that you are giving the independent business your cash instead of the big chain stores. Staff is friendly and helpful. You can even hang out there and enjoy your food and drink. Great community bulletin board, too.

A small chain located in and around Charlotte, Fuel Pizza is a great place to go for fast, good pizza. The garlic knots are outstanding as well. They usually have certificates available on Restaurant.com as well! The sauce is great and the right combination of cheese and toppings will keep me going back! The atmosphere is almost like that of a shop on a college campus - not flashy or exceedingly comfy but it gets the job done. service has always been quick and kind.

Located across from Southpark Mall, this Harris Teeter was actually named one of the five things you need to visit in Charlotte. A monstrous grocery store with all kinds of items available: there is hot food ready to go, custom made-to-order pasta and sandwiches, a huge salad bar, and an entire case of ready-made meals to choose from! The even have two deli cases – one for upscale items. The baked goods are everywhere and fresh artisan bread is available. The fish market in back is extensive with new fresh catch items daily. It’s also a regular grocery store too less I forget. Just beware of the shoppers that think their sh** don’t stink – they’re in abundance there!

One of my favorite places to eat and have coffee! I love the Panera menu, atmosphere, and service. Always prompt and kind! Prices are reasonable but the quality and amount of food is always generous. Their salads are my favorite – that’s only because I’d never leave if I started on their bakery items. The cinnamon crunch bagel is the best bagel ever made! They have frequent buyer cards which I fill on a regular basis. Great menus for the kids too!

Earth Fare is an amazing gourmet and organic food store. If you like Whole Foods Market, you will love Earth Fare! There is a bakery with breads that are fresh baked with dough straight from Italy!!! Tempt yourself with a Rosemary Olive Oil round! There’s a very large section for fresh made salads, pastas, etc as well as a large “help-yourself” priced per pound bar. Don’t forget the fresh-made delectable desserts and pastries. Then, feast on the huge quantity of produce. There’s a great section with dried fruits/vegetables, trail mixes, nuts, and a selection of oils, all with different sized containers to fill yourself however much you want. Don’t forget all the packaged foods. A wonderful place, I wish there were more!!!
