Very cool merchandise and merchandising. The whole neighborhood was awesome, although some places I wanted to visit were closed on Wednesdays. I will come back on the weekend to spend the day when I get paid. The pretty blond girl working there was very sweet also. Even though I did not buy anything today, I will go back soon.
Pros: great prices on cool retro stuff
Cons: none

I can buy at least 3 things for the price of 1 at the junk shop called Century up the street.People dont be rude about the name here,i' rather fond of it.I wish this place was bigger and had more furniture i buy clothing here thats clean and if they had sofas i bet they would be clean also. That means alot because if i want a furry dog hair couch from the mid century shop i'll find one in the alley and i think i saw one in that alley by that shop.Anyway i find Hong Kong to be the best shop for vintage around anymore in Charlotte.Sorry you guys have to deal with bs people
Pros: prices are good today its all about price point and they seem to understand that
Cons: small and they need more handbags and jewelry

Perhaps a cellphone call would have saved you a trip. Or are you still baffled as to why a cellphone isn't made of cells?

OK, the only reason why I went to this place was because someone told my mom that there was a "Chinese consignment shop" on Central. So, I stopped there after school to check it out, and it wasn't open. The parking lot was lousy, and it made my car bump trying to get into the parking lot. I went to the McDonald's nearby (which had lousy service, by the way. It took 15 minutes to bake apple pies!) to wait for the place to open. Then I went back. It was 12:00 and still not open. I peeked through the window and was very disappointed with what was there. I saw some shiny clothing in the back though and, still believing I may find the used qipao (traditional Chinese dress, which I think could be described as "vintage") I was looking for, I waited. When the owner finally opened, I was shocked that I'd been tricked into going into a Goodwill, basically, and that I'd wasted gas to get there.
I don't get the name. Why name something "Hong Kong" if it's got nothing to do with anything Chinese? I'm very into Chinese culture, so I think it's a horrible misuse of something Chinese to advertise some old clothes no one wants. "Hong Kong" means "fragrant harbor" in Cantonese, and that's not what I thought of when I entered this store. I want truth in advertising, and the sign implied something entirely different from what was actually in the store!
Pros: Close to CPCC, and you don't have to drive through the bad part of town.
Cons: Parking, timing, selection, sign

This store was just what I was looking for in terms of vintage shopping here in Charlotte- fun, friendly, and affordable! Although the store was small, the clutter was kept to a minimum. It was well organized by style, and the only con was that I couldn't buy it all! Service was great as well - the salesclerk was friendly but not overly pushy or conversational like some other stores. I definitely think this store warrants a visit!!
Pros: Large, well-edited selection, low prices
Cons: Small (but good organization makes up for it)

I love this store. People are complaining about the parking but apparently they haven't seen the Huge lot right there next to the building that has ample room for parking and plenty of space to back up and get turned around in. This is The place to go for a unique shirt, dress, pair of pants or shoes, even a funky belt or jewelry. I love being able to tell people about it when I go out with friends and everyone asks "Where did you get that shirt". It's like shopping at Goodwill or Salvation Army without having to sort through all the junk stuff that they usually have. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. Some of the other people that work there are a little less helpful but if you go by when the owner is working, she'll help you find that perfect something. The best part about this place is that if you have something in your closet that you're not wearing anymore and you take it in there she'll usually give you a couple bucks of store credit. Try doing that at Salvation Army or Goodwill. Go check it out. You won't be dissappointed.
Pros: Very unique selection, Fun stuff to look at or try on, Nobody else will have the same outfit on when you go out.
Cons: Cons? I can't think of any.

If you are looking for some great vintage clothing and/or small pieces of furniture; this is the place to go. I heard really good things about Hong Kong and had to go and see for myself. It is not a big place but there are plenty of treasures inside. I have been scouring all over Charlotte to find a unique retro chair and side table...well...I found exactly what I was looking for. The owner is super sweet and has great taste. My 16 year old cousin came with me to look around and loved all of the clothes. We are going to be regulars there. If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, you have to go back another time. You never know what you will find.
Pros: Great Finds!!
Cons: Parking isn't the greatest
