Nice Inn, Nice Location, Bit Pricey but so what 9/10/2005

Upon a recent visit back to Charleston, we decided to treat ourselves and stay at the Ansonborough Inn (instead of sleeping on Mom's couch). When we lived in Charleston, we lived just a few streets away from the Inn on Society STreet, so staying here was like being back at the old house. Of course, this isn't a $45 a night type of place. Be prepared to shell out some cold, hard cash to stay here. But you know what? It's worth it. This is a nice little inn in a very unsuspecting part of town. You're close to the Market, to King & Meeting Streets but you're not in the hustle and bustle of central downtown Charleston. The great thing about staying downtown is that everything is within walking distance (depending on how far you want to walk). It would take you maybe 30 minutes to get to Waterfront Park, 45 to get to The Battery---and these are leisurely paces as you pass by stunning architecture. Take a trip down a little alley. Getting lost in Charleston is half the fun (unless you're driving, then it's scary). If you're looking for something more upscale and more intimate than the Best Western, give the Ansonborough Inn a try. Stay in a real neighborhood where real locals live. more
