The PTA thrift shop is pretty good, and its one weakness is entirely beyond its control: it's situated in a town, that, due to a number of factors (hip/indie rock culture and poor college kids, for example) is predisposed to raid thrift stores. You won't come across as many vintage clothing or rare/cool/"I can't believe they have this!" finds as you would in a Raleigh or Durham thrift shop, but if you just need a clean white shirt or a pair of khaki pants quickly and cheaply, it'll do just find. All of the profits go to the local PTA, so you can feel good about spending you money there, too.
