We love this office. We first found it when we were looking for a place to have our Italian Greyhound have orthopedic surgery. Our options were to go to Chicago and pay DOUBLE the amount that we paid here or travel the same distance and pay less... We chose the latter of course! They are caring and always on time. The prices for services are reasonable and the dr. is very skilled. In fact, he taught at U of I prior to opening his office. They do check-ups on your pet after they leave, too!

I went with my friend to get her eyes examed here and to pick out a pair of glasses. The optomotrist was incredibly unprofessional and made remarks that made my friend feel very uncomfortable. He was an older guy and he was basically hitting on a college girl. The receptionist wasn't much better. She was incredibly condescending and rude to us, and they ripped my friend off, I think because we were college students and they assumed we did not know any better. I do not recommend this place because the service is horrible and the prices and selection aren't that great either.

When we had an HMO in Champaign, we had to see a primary care physician before seeing someone else. We choose Dr. Gopal as our primary care physician, and we were pleased with him.
He is building his practice, so we never had a problem getting an appointment. Dr. Gopal was always on time too.
My husband and I saw him for routine checkups. My husband also saw him for some moles, and Dr. Gopal referred him to a specialist.
We never had any problems with Dr. Gopal. The only concern is that he didn't have a lot of experience because he was fresh out of medical school. But that was a few years ago, so he has much more experience now.

The obstrectrics unit at this group is fantastic. The nurses should all pat themselves on their back for their patience. Marty Guyon NP is fantastic with patients and I would highly recommend going to her. She listens to your concerns and will help any very uncomfortable, pregnant woman through her pregnancy. Appointments can be hard to come by and often run late in the afternoon. Try to book an early morning appointment if you are in a time crunch. The appointments are as early as 7:30

I don't go to doctors often, except dentists so don't really know how good it is. I walked in this care center without an appointment so they made me wait for a long long time. I guess it is pretty normal but I don't like it. Especially my problem was not big and the doctor only gave me something I could buy by myself.

I have had different experiences with Christie Clinic, depending on why I was going. I started out going to see and OB at the clinic on Neil. Every time I went I had to wait forever! I don't know if it was just that I had a popular dr., or how they run things over there. I would finally get into the examination room and then have to wait another 30-45 minutes. Sometimes it would take up to 2 hours total. Now we go fairly frequently to the clinic on Mattis and Windsor for pediatric appointments and the wait is very short. We get in within minutes and then the nurse and doctor are available right away. I guess that they know that babies and kids won't handle the long waiting times as well. The nurses and doctors are always very friendly, even if sometimes they are a little bit rushed.

There aren't many grocery stores near campus that are easy for carless students to walk to. There are even less that have healthy food. Unfortunately, I didn't discover CGFC until after a year, since it seems to be a bit of a secret.
It's tucked into Springfield Avenue, in a church not too far from Green Street. They have a variety of foods ranging from local produce to tea. The produce selection is not too big, but they have great locally grown crops. Their fresh baked breads are quite delicious and seem to sell out fast. They have lots of boxed items that are great for college students who want to eat healthy, such as soy milk and organic soups. Also they have a selection of frozen natural foods, dairy products, and even some natural toiletries.
My main compliant would be with the fact that they have no meat. I know many if not most of the people shopping there are vegans or vegetarians, but it leaves people who buy free range or local humanely raised meat without any options except a loooong trip to a "big box" grocery store.
If you don't eat meat, this is the best place to stop. If you do you might have to supplement with other stores, but it is still a great place to go.
If you shop at CGFC regularly, you do have to purchase a membership, but I don't think they are terribly expensive. Considering that many products are much cheaper than what they would be elsewhere, since CGFC is non-profit, a membership should pay for itself if you shop a lot. If you are particularly cash strapped or simply want to save money, they give a discount to volunteers, who staff the store.

Great clinic, with awesome service. My dog had some swelling in her face and we thought we were stuck with the worst. They were so calming and helpful as we ran through test to figure out just what was wrong. Luckily it turned out to some kind of infection swelling(She gets some might nasty ear infections no matter what we do). They fixed her up and helped us get her infections under control. We got lucky and the prices were good for the medicine and the service.
To my surprise I also found out they have a boarding service. My dog, she's a wonder sometimes I tell you. She suffers from separation anxiety so boarding her is a challenge. We have never done it for fear of just how bad she might get. I noticed they offered a program for a little extra that gave her outside time with a ball for 15 minutes and 15 minutes of other play with a buddy. She also got a pillow. It worked out so great and she was so happy when we came home. She didn't mope and get mad at us for leaving which is a good indication she had fun. She also managed to lose some weight because she got a lot of exercises. I feel confident in this clinic because they took such good care of our dog and she was so happy.

This gym is definitel okay, but nothing to fall over about. There is a decent amount of equipment in both weights and cardio equipment. There is one big pitfall- the students! They are really everywhere and can be quite rude at times. Two big drawbacks- no childcare! You can bring a baby in a stroller though! Also, during peak hours you can't do stay on the equipment for more than 20 minutes and it gets REALLY crowded around 5-6:30.
