wow, what can I say about Harold’s, well if you are looking for the BEST Fried chicken anywhere, come here. Anyone who thinks KFC is good, has no idea what good fried chicken tastes like till they try Harold’s. The food is cooked to order so when you can call ahead, do it! You will save close to 20 mins. the decor is minimal at best, and the prices are super cheap, so you can tell where all the money goes, into the product itself. The mild sauce for the chicken and fries is terrific also! I have yet to try the catfish or perch, but will be soon! The only place that approaches this for chicken is Popeye's, their spicy breast is in its own league, but Harold's is the BEST in Champaign/Urbana.

Harold's Chicken Shack opened up in Champaign this fall. Harold's is well known for their Chicago locations, and I am quite happy to see it make it downstate. I am a big fan of the breasts at Harold's. Very big and juicy. I get them covered in hot sauce, just a delicious taste. Fries are also served with the chicken. All food is made to order, so it is best to call ahead.
