Rack Em Billiards is a pretty good pool hall. I play there sometimes with my friends. They have 8 pool tables available and the people that frequent the place are pretty decent. The staff that work there are also very friendly. They have free parking available in the parking lot too.

Veterans Park is the best park in the Carson area. It has everything you need: huge grassy area complete with benches and tables for picnics, multiple basketball courts with tons of people looking for pick-up games, a couple of baseball fields, more grass for soccer games, two huge playground areas for the kids and more. There's a professional quality basketball gymnasium in the building and a gym filled with weights and cardio machines. The gym is highly affordable and has everything a person needs.

I'd really like to only focus this review on the driving range, because it really is that good. This is one of the first fully automated driving ranges. What this means is you don't bend down and put a ball on the tee, you just stand, hit, tweak your swing, and keep hitting until you're out of credits. This allows you to isolate aspects of your swing like no other driving range would allow. Hitting 100 balls takes no time at all here, and the place doesn't charge all that much--7 cents or less a ball. As for the golf course, this is another one of LA's noisiest courses, as it is placed directly next to the 405 freeway. Be warned, you'll hear horns, road noise and possibly even CHP. Its a very short par 3 course.

Long Beach is the hottest place on the California coast, but we’re not talking about degrees! Enjoy a cool ocean breeze with nearly 345 days of sunshine every year. Summer temperatures range in the coveted 70-80 degrees, and winter temperatures are quite comfortable at 55-65 degrees, making Long Beach the ultimate year-round vacation destination. Check out the Aquarium, museum and the Queen Mary while you are there

I'm reviewing this as a concert venue since it doesn't seem to be in the right category. Anyway, it's not a bad place to see a show. It's a bit out of the way from Los Angeles and traffic getting there can be horrendeous. I like that for shows with a general admission floor, the floor is divided up so that section on front of the stage ("the pit") isn't too big thus safer. However if you want to be in that section, come early! It takes around 30 minutes for the floor line to walk through metal detectors, wristbanded and walk to the actual floor.

More
The City of Carson needs a new library. Most of the materials and books in here are beyond outdated--they're ancient! The people who work here are great, courteous, helpful. But that doesn't excuse the poor selection of reading materials and resources for the people of this city. Better off going to Torrance Public Library.
