I haven't found a better park in the south bay area. If you're an east coast transplant, like myself then you might enjoy this park as well. Outside there are baseball diamonds, a skate park, and six half court/full court basketball hoops. The real gem of the park however is the inside. For $5 you gain access to their weight room, the indoor gym, an indoor practice gym, and--racquetball courts! Thats right, indoor, air conditioned racquetball in the south bay and it doesn't mean joining a crazy country club. They offer yearly rates as well, if you'd like to join for a longer term, but I find the $5 per time very reasonable.

Veterans Park is the best park in the Carson area. It has everything you need: huge grassy area complete with benches and tables for picnics, multiple basketball courts with tons of people looking for pick-up games, a couple of baseball fields, more grass for soccer games, two huge playground areas for the kids and more. There's a professional quality basketball gymnasium in the building and a gym filled with weights and cardio machines. The gym is highly affordable and has everything a person needs.
