This place is something that can be enjoyable for the entire family, but in my opinion, it needs to be a bit cleaner. I had a pretty good time when I went there, but if the park were cleaner and more up to date, I think I would have enjoyed it more. This might be due to the fact that the park is fairly old. Besides a few minor details, the park is a great place for the entire family. Children seem to enjoy themselves and it's a great place for adults to have fun as well.

Sandy Lake Park has been around forever (or for as long as I can remember). It has a huge pool to swim in and lots of rides that are like the little carnival rides that little kids love. The park is very clean (but old) and there is a train that is fun to ride around the park in. It is nice way to spend a day that won't break the bank. It is very easy to find- just exit Sandy Lake Rd off of 35 and follow the signs!

We visited Sandy Lake Park in August - NOT a good time ti visit - it is TOO hot. I thought it would be very different from what I had read. There seems to be a lot to do, and although entrance is cheap, the games require a lot of tickets. The pool area did not have a lot of shade for these hot days. I was a little dissapointed with it, but am sure on a cooler day it would of been a better experience.

Sandy Lake Amusement Park is a good bargain for our family of three. They offer games, rides, and carnival/fair type food. We generally opt to take a picnic lunch, a frisbee, and horseshoes and have really good, "old fashioned" fun.
There are clowns, balloon artists, face painters and food vendors. For animal lovers, there are Shetland pony rides, and a petting zoo. Athletic enthusiasts can play volleyball, softball, basketball and miniature golf, or try their hand at organized Tug-O-War, Horse Shoes or Sack Races. To top it all off, Sandy Lake Park is unparalleled for water sports, boasting one of the nation's largest swimming pools, as well as "tubing" and paddle boats on Sandy Lake

Sandy Lake Park is an inexpensive alternative to some of the other amusement parks in the DFW metroplex, and it has a lot to offer. There's a fantastic swimming pool--it's huge, clean, and has lots of shaded areas. There's miniature golf, paddle boats, amusement park rides. There are picnic tables and beautiful trees everywhere, and you can bring a lunch there and have a picnic. There is a train that takes you around the park, and everything is very reasonably priced. This park has been a local favorite for awhile and should continue to be one.
